Vehicle Detail

You are looking at my 1992 Lincoln Mark VII LSC SE. I bought this about 6 years ago from a co-worker who's wife used it as a daily driver. The man was a fanatic when it came to his cars and whatever his wife wanted - any issues she had with the car were not repaired - THEY WERE REPLACED!! At the time, a new radiatior was installed, power window motor on drivers' side replaced, new hoses and belts. The TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 98k - he gave me the invoice for that along with a few others in an envelope at the time of sale - I'm sorry - i'm kicking myself but I cannot find those papers. I bought the car because I had a Mark VII about 20 years ago and always wanted the SE.......knowing the owner and how he was with cars - the descision was a no-brainer. You looking at this listing means you either had one or always wanted one - you know the feeling...NOT really old-school.......but a cool, classic style that demands respect.. OK.......I bought the car with intentions of enjoying it - which I did... I had my daily driver and this one in the garage waiting for me when the time was right. The only mods I did to it was adding a flowmaster exhaust system ( mild - series 50 I think.....not overbearing sound wise - but BETTER than stock) I also swapped out the stock radio for a 1200 watt sony system with CD changer - install was done by a local professional. I would score the car right now a solid C+ The body is solid with no dents or major dings - a few rust spots but far from critical. (see pictures) There are what I call "clearcoat issues" on the car - I was told it can be wet-sanded and clearcoated for far less than a new paint job, but I never looked into it. Everything electronically works inside car from the gauges to the sunroof.....automatic A/C works great!! the only issue I'm having is the lock on the drivers side - it will not unlock with the key or keypad combo, but will open from the inside - apparently a rod slipped loose inside the door. engine and drivetrain - car runs strong - full tune-up before it was stored. I had it running as I prepped it for listing and it was idling nice!! The air suspenion seems fine - never saw the car unnaturally lower than it should be - pumps run when they should and shut off when level. I know of no other problems with this car than the ones I stated... If there is something you would like me to check into or you want other photos - just ask.On Sep-17-10 at 20:00:39 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE REVISED: Because I am at eBay's limit of 24 pictures I cannot list more. At this time - for some reason, I cannot change some of them. If there is anything you would like to see - i will provide via email. ALSO I've been getting the same questions in regards to several points - here are some more details: The engine is the same 5.0 liter engine found in Ford's mustang and is the original engine of this car (18 years) The transmision - as i was told from previous owner - was changed at aprox 92K - NOT 98K as I stated earlier - sorry I purchased it with 98K.......sorry for the mix-up.... The exhaust is a "true dual" flowmaster system (NO Catalytic Converter) new pipes installed from the stock headers to new flowmaster series 50 mufflers - installed spring 2006. The car was "taken off the road" due to an expired inspection sticker and after some time later - the registration expired....NYS will not allow a registration to be renewed when an inspection is expired - to make matter worse I couldn't get an inspection with an expired registration.......VERY confusing and time consuming. If you read the reports, you will see 2 strikes on car - 1 for an accident and the other for inspection issues.... 1st. strike is a report of a "collision with another vehicle" in march of 2000. I purchased car in Oct. of 2004 and I was not made aware of anything of this - I feel safe to assume that these reports will list anything from a bump to a complete total and it all falls under the same headline. As for the inspection issue....as I just stated - my regstration and inspection was expired and since I still had plates on car (custom) the report had the info provided from the DMV listed - the dates match up. I have the expired 2008 inspection still on car and it shows I only put less than 2000 miles during the year - basicly my yearly average. In the time that the car was down - I would start it on average of once a week during the warmer months and about once a month at other times - I would also drive it around my-cul-de sac when I could. The longest it went without starting would be about 2 months - I'd put the battery on a charger and it would start up strong - like it wanted to stay with me.... AS FAR AS the condition of the engine and tranny: I feel good saying it is better than average for a car its age. I'm not gonna say it perfect - but I will say there is no serious issues that would scare anyone away. Are there any leaks? No, but I wouldn't park it on that new driveway.... simply put - I would carry a quart of tranny fluid in the trunk - and I just threw out the same quart about 1/2 full after driving around with it for a few years. New York State Title is clean and free and clear from any leins - I am listed as the sole owner.
