Re-List 1980 Corvette L48 / 350 / automatic / Black / T-tops / a/c, pw, ps, pb. cruise, tilt / 56,732mi / numbers DO NOT match $6000 OBO!! See Below for common questions asked.... Looks, runs, drives really good. Needs TLC...Vette is 30 years old and is to be expected! I have owned it for almost 2 years and have had intentions on doing all necessary repairs to get her looking/driving perfect. Unfortunately, I have not gotten to drive her much so she has sat for the past year/year and a half un-licensed and un-insured. I do go out once every week or two and let her run for awhile and take her down the road around the neighborhood to keep the juices flowing and battery charged. I don't have the time to do all the work I had "wanted" to do on her. I have @ $1000 worth of parts/manuals/catalogs that go with her when she goes. Known issues/fixes/other... *Suspension is worn (bushings mostly). I have a complete Bushing and Ball joint kit that goes with the car. *Gas gauge does not work. I have a new unit to go in tank to fix issue...goes with, also. *Paint is NOT perfect. From a short distance...she looks great and is a real head-turner. Up close, she has some scratches, cracks, and chips. She was repainted by a previous owner...but they did not do any body work prior to painting. *I replaced the starter solenoid and installed a heat shield (chrome). *Previous owner claimed to have rebuilt the engine...engine does appear to have been rebuilt. Current mileage is 56,732...they claimed there is about 4,000 on the rebuild. *As with all older Corvettes, the analog clock does not work *Has aftermarked CD player installed and does work fine. *Some of the interior moldings/panels are missing. None are major or cause serious distraction from overall appearance and would not cost too much to replace. *I have a complete build assembly guide and wiring diagram manuals that go with the car (I purchased these to help aide with restoring). *Previous owner claims to have replaced: Brake pads, water pump, radiator, (aftermarket) electric fan, battery, and alternator. All appear to have been replace recently. *I replaced the Distributor cap and rotor button...the one on there was cracked when I got her. To be honest, I don't see how she ran. It was in rough shape! *Weatherstripping is old and dry-rotting. I have a complete kit to replace all weatherstripping. I have already replaced the Passanger side t-top weatherstripping due to leak. Have not gotten to any of the others yet. *Tires are in good shape. Not new but have several miles left on them...I would say they are at 70-75% *There is a semi-deep nick on the passenger side front rim (bead area). Does not hinder driving or the tire itself. Planned on replacement...never got to it. I am sure there are some things I have missed. As mentioned before, she is 30 years old...and wear-n-tear over the years has taken its toll and will show in places. Regardless, she is in great shape for her age, in my opinion. She would make a great project car for anyone who loves the Corvette look and history. Put a little time in her to get her as a sweet daily driver or strip her down and do a complete restore on her. The choice would be totally yours to make. I planned on making her a sweet daily driver. Regardless, as is...she still turns a lot of heads and gets comments and smiles all the time. Buyer is responsible for shipping if local pick up is not available. I accept PayPal, Cash, Certified Check...ONLY Car is listed locally...therefore, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to local sale. If you have questions...ask! I will do my best to answer any questions sent in a timely manner. Common questions asked: Q: Would car make trip of XXXmiles? A: I would not, and cannot, assume the car could make any long distance trip. I have not driven the car more than 30 miles at any one time. I have barely put 150 miles total on the car since I have owned it. I would recommend hauling the car or having it shipped for piece of mind's sake. I am NOT a mechanic. I don't claim to know my way around a car...but I am not ignorant either. There may be things going on that I do not know about. The car runs good, drives good, but does need work. Q: Is the VIN# correct? A: Yes, the number is correct as listed. Cars produced before 1981 had shorter VIN#s. Thus, a History Report cannot be traced. I could not get one when I bought it, you cannot get one either. I am sorry, but it is what it is. I only know what was told to me and what I have discovered since owning it (which isn't much). Q: Would I be willing to accept $xxxx for it "if it doesn't sell during the listing"? A: No. Make an offer through the listing if you are interested. I will either accept or won't. But, I am not willing to go outside of ebay (except through local face-to-face sale). This protects me (and you). Also, I know what the car is worth...if you don't have a reasonable offer...DON'T WASTE MY TIME! Q: Leaks? A: Yes...but from what I can tell...nothing serious. Basically just seepage through the gaskets (valve covers/oil pan). None have left any spots on the driveway nor have I had to put oil in as a result. Q: Extra pics of specific areas of the car? A: Send me your email and I will do my best to accommodate any requests.
