Vehicle Detail
1989 Jeep Wrangler ROCK CRAWLER OFF ROAD Ready to Play Up for auction is my 1989 Jeep Wrangler. It has been completely disassembled to the bare frame and built from the ground up. As you can see in the pictures it has been highly modified, for off-road use. Everything on this Jeep has been removed, checked, rebuilt/or replaced. The rebuild took 2 years to complete. The list of work done is extensive and I will try to list it all here. 4 ½" Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Lift Kit w/ Sway Bar disconnects Ford 9" Rear (narrowed) with Detroit locker, chromy axles, and 4:10 gears Dana 44 (Scout) front with ARB Air locker, 4:10 gears Warn Premium Hubs Dana 300 Transfer Case w/ Twin Stick Tom Woods Custom drive-shafts DOM steering linkage w/ Heim Joints (tierods) Rubicon Express Mono-tube shocks 4.2L Inline 6 w/ approx. 20,000 miles, All computer controls were removed along with wiring harness, Motorcraft 2150 carb, HEI distributor, Runs smoother and better than stock Stock 3 speed Automatic transmission Optima - Yellow top gel battery Upgraded brakes - discs on every corner, 1 ton Ford Master cylinder, All lines replaced w/ new, and braided Rubicon stainless hoses at all 4 calipers. H1 16 ½" Double beadlocks, recentered with 5 on 5 ½" pressed centers, all new lock nuts, valve stems, and o-rings - set of 5 36" TSL/SX Super Swampers - 3 tires have about 500 miles on them, 2 on rear are new. The tire used as spare has 2 plugs in it. VIAIR - On Board Air - 450 Constant Duty air compressor system - has quick disconnect fitting in lower grille area. Warn M 8000 winch w/ 5/16" cable and handheld remote. Tested once, never used. Corbeau Black Vinyl suspension seats w/ 3" 5 pt harnesses Hi- Lift 48" Extreme Duty Jack Body has been extremely modified - front fenders were highlined, rear wheel openings were enlarged, and rockers were boatsided. Flares and rocker armor were made of 1 " tubing (w/ 1/8" plate added to rockers). All sheet metal work was done w/ 16 gauge steel. Body was coated with a Smart systems Bedliner coating (heavy like Rhino-lining, not the cheap auto parts store junk). Interior was also sprayed with same coating but black in color. Front bumper was made from 5" x ¼" c- channel and 2" square tubing, welded directly to frame. Brush guard is a modified H1 unit. Rear bumper is made from 2" square tubing w/ an integrated swing down tire carrier. It was made to swing down, and rest on the ground to make removing spare easier, and also to carry weight on frame instead of body. It has a quick release pin on each side. Roll cage was made from 2" tubing and is mounted to body in 6 points. Plates were made for the underside of body as well for future frame tie-in. Plates are bolted into position sandwiching body between them and the cage. Kenwood detachable face CD w/ mp3 plug and 2 6" Kenwood speakers in custom enclosure under dash. I also made a center console for it with storage areas. All coated in the same bedliner material. I have the half steel doors and a Best-top bikini top on it. The top has a very small hole near the middle about the size of a pencil. I also have a rear piece for behind the seats, but no toneau for rear. I also have a pair of black upper soft windows. I am sure there is more I have done but I can’t remember all at 1 time. If I think of more I will add it later. Everything done to this Jeep was in expectation of heavy off-road use. I was to use this myself, so I built it with my own safety in mind. I will give the buyer a list of all the non-Jeep items that went into this build, to make any future repairs or mods easier. I have not taken this on any heavy off-road runs. It has been taken to a friends dirt bike trail, through the woods, and run through its paces a few times to work out the bugs. We wanted to get everything in order before making a trip to any ORV parks (the closest is 4 hours away and we didn’t want to spend our time there fixing things we forgot). Everything is fully operational and operates as it should. The only thing I have not done is finish the airline to the air locker in front. I just got the Non-electric switch (which operates the locker) and a regulator (to drop the air pressure down to locker only). I have not gotten the Arb air line to finish install. I assure you the ARB unit is fully operational and tested it before installing axle in Jeep. Also the dash piece around the Speedometer is broken, It is just the surround that covers the main dash around speedo and tach, rest of dash is great.
