Vehicle Detail

1969 Ford LTD Country Squire. I purchased this Ford wagon from an older couple I met while touring around Georgia a decade ago. The suburbs of Atlanta had crept in around the property they had called home for years, and when the time came to downsize, they sold this wagon, which was originally purchased by a hall-of-fame baseball player. See the owners manual for his signature; only your grandparents might remember his name, but it’s an interesting story nonetheless. This Ford has a solid frame and mostly good floors, partly because the undercarriage was heavily undercoated when new and never exposed to winter. The rear seating and tire wells have had some metal repairs welded in place. The doors are rough and the weather stripping is rotten. Although this car was never driven through road salt, it is rusting from the top down from being stored outside many years. If you’re still reading, consider the good points. The black interior is in nice shape, with a fully intact headliner, perfect seats and original carpeting. The long list of new parts includes new tires, battery and cables, front and rear brakes, master cylinder, shocks, A-arm bushings, alternator, voltage regulator, coil, water pump, heater core, hoses, fuel lines, head gaskets, and a new exhaust system from the engine manifolds back. The 390 V8 needs a rebuilt carburetor to run as well as it did before sitting in storage, but is otherwise a good engine. This vehicle is up for sale because I am currently undertaking a frame-off restoration of a 1971 Country Squire, and there is simply not enough time to restore and drive two project cars. What you are bidding on is a project, but one that is nearly ready to be driven, appearances aside. You will get stared at when driving it. Buyer is expected to pay with cash or a certified check that clears the bank, and then arrange for shipping or pickup. Please email your inquiries and requests for additional pictures, and thanks for looking!
