Original CA black plate classic Beryl Green bug. Very original survivor vehicle with 100% original interior and almost 100% original exterior paint. Has had a blend on the both the outer edge of the drivers front and rear fenders. 100% original metal, bumpers, wiring, glass, etc. This bug was part of the tourist delivery program that VW offered. Was brought over to the US through Gardner VW/Porsche dealer of Fresno, CA and has remained in the Central Valley since then. Odometer reads around 90k miles. Has the usual Euro glass, locking steering, and you can see where the Euro plates were once mounted on the decklid and front US bumper. Has a recently rebuilt 40hp engine (less than 50 miles) with new piston and cylinders, rebuilt heads, new tune-up parts, rebuilt carb, and new muffler. New brakes: Master cylinder, flex lines, wheel cylinders, shoes, etc. New front wheel bearings, seals, rear bearings, and axle seals. Rims and running board mats were repainted in keeping with the original paint scheme. Nice set of 5 original Continental 6.00x15 bias ply tires. Runs and drives well and most everything works as it should. Currently registered through DMV as Non-Op so the Black plates are still attached to the registration and title for this vehicle and can be used when registered without any extra YOM fees. Comes with the original Gardner VW/Porsche dealer frames and the matching Veterans key tag that matches the license plates. Locking steering/ignition functions as it should and the doors lock with the original Huf key. This bug had previously been parked since the mid 90's and although runs, drives, and stops well...It could use some of the usual maintenance that you would expect to give something that has been sitting for some time. This bug is rust free and the battery area of the pan is excellent. Clear California title. A Paypal deposit of $500 will immediately be due if you use the buy it now option. If the auction ends without the buy it now option a $500 deposit through Paypal will be due within 24 hours after the auctions end. The remaining balance will be due within 5 days of auctions end via cash upon pick up or bank deposit/transfer (no checks, cashiers checks, or other methods of payment unless discussed before bidding). I can store the vehicle for up to two weeks until pick up is made in person or by your transport agency, but please no longer than this time frame or storage fees will be added at $25/day and will need to be paid before the vehicle is released. For International buyers we can assist with delivery to the port of your choice in California for an additional fee or help load the car for your transport company.
