1991 MERCEDES 350SDL TURBO DIESEL This is a very clean well maintained 350SDL. Over the years I have owned many Mercedes, BMWs, and Porsches. I am a 51 year old professional jet pilot and two time aviation world record holder. I know good equipment and how to operate it. I am a no nonsense experienced German car hobbist/collector. I came across this car in my travels and had to buy it. It is in very nice condition with only the normal signs of loving use. All onboard systems function properly. It has a new factory Mercedes engine installed at approximately 60,000 miles. There is a corresponding factory serial numbered new engine booket included. The transmission was overhauled 5000 miles ago by a Mercedes shop inTexas. Exterior: The exterior is Black with a slight touch of metallic. Some might call it black pearl. It is very beautiful with all panels matching perfectly and aligned correctly. The CarFax is totally clean. There is no indication or evidence that the car has ever had any body damage anywhere on the entire car. There are normal minor door pecks. Nothing detracts from the classic beauty of the 126 big body. There is zero / no sign of rust, anywhere. None. Interior: The interior is full factory grey leather. The seats are in very good conditon with little to no wear on the driver bolster. There are no scratches, tears, or blemishes on the seats. The dash is like new with no cracks or marks. Door panels are all excellent. All carpets and floor mats are very nice with no staining or damage. I just installed a new set of black with grey speck CoCo mats that look very nice. Stereo: Panasonic CD AM/FM player with upgraded speakers that sounds very nice. The stereo has an input plug on the face for MP4 IPod. Engine / Drivetrain / Transmission: In 1996 at approx 59,000 miles Mercedes installed a brand new Mercedes motor replacing the original motor with an new upgrade factory motor. Aproximately 5000 miles ago the transmission was overhauled by a Mercedes shop in Texas. The car shifts correctly, alsways starts and runs perfectly, and delivers from 22 to 29 miles per gallon at every fill up depending on speed and use. I installed 4 new tires in the last 500 miles. I bought this car in Texas and drove it to San Francisco with no problems what so ever. All on board systems work corretly including the air conditioning, cruise, all climate controls, windows, door locks, electric seats, and interior and exterior lighting. Flaws: The center arm rest is below average. I am looking for a factory replacement. The windshield has a repaired rock chip that is no more than a distraction. As all 19 year old vehicles, it is not new. It should be held to an intellegent and experienced used classic car standards. Please, serious, informed buyers only.
