Vehicle Detail

I am the original owner of this 1986 Nissan 300ZX 2+2. I bought it September 1986, bronze paint and black interior, automatic with all options except turbo, and enjoyed the pleasure of driving it for many years, always keeping it well maintained and in prime condition. However in 2004, nearing retirement and during a prolonged illness, I made the mistake of allowing my nephew to take it off to his freshman year in college. At the end of his freshman year he brought it back to me in the condition you see in the photos. He had backed into a concrete barrier and replaced the back bumper you see, had been hit on the left rear side, and for some incomprehensible reason someone had sprayed the car with a caustic material that damaged the paintwork. That last was particularly heart-breaking since I'd had a complete paint job done just before he took it off to college over a thousand miles from here (he was my favorite nephew and I wanted to do him proud). The front seats had been ripped and a tape jammed in the tape deck, interior cosmetic damage, the floor mats were missing, the envelope carriers for the T-tops were missing, and I became totally disheartened about what had happened to my beautiful car. At first I left the car in my driveway intending to have it restored but my convalescence continued (blocked arteries) and I just started it up and drove it up and down the driveway every couple of months. But now I'm just not in an economic position to restore it and have decided to sell it on eBay with the hope that someone who loves the 300ZX as much as I have will buy it and restore it and take it back on the road. The battery is dead of course but when I get a 'jump' the engine starts up immediately strong and smooth. BUT over time when I start it there is a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. It gets worse each time I start it up. I've been told by my mechanic friend that it needs new fuel injectors. He has also told me that the transmission bands will need replacing since it's becoming more and more difficult to move it. This car is ideal for restoration. I know I can't expect it but if you do buy it and restore it and get it back on the road I would like to hear from you. I had a lot of pleasure driving this car. If you've ever owned a 300ZX you'll know what I mean.
