This 1958 Chevy Apache Longbed Stepside Pickup with the original rebuilt V8 engine and 4 speed manual with a new clutch has been in storage since 1998 and has just recently been serviced and driven. It starts easy and runs smoothly with NO smoke or other issues.The Cooper tires are like new as well as the shocks. The latge back window is in perfect condition but the winshield is cracked as well as the left side vent window. There are some rust problems. Both cab corners. The R/H cab corner is dented as well as rusted. There is a rust line going down the aft edge of the front fenders. The cab floors are solid with only a small rust hole on each side in the corners. Above the windshield seal on the inside of the cab there is rust along the top edge of the seal.The rest of the truck is straight and rust free (but there is surface rust) and the steps and bed are very solid. I believe everything is original on this truck except the steering wheel and a upgraded flex cooling fan. I have driven this truck about 100 miles in the last week or so and it did very well. The brakes pull a bit to the right and it has some rattles. I believe this truck to be a very sound running and driving project.
