Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a very solid Canadian built 1969 Buick Skylark Custom with the original 350 engine, TH-350 transmission and factory Chevy 12 bolt open rearend. This is the unique feature of a Canadian built Buick Skylark. The car has power steering and manual drum brakes which means you can stuff a built engine in there and not have to worry about having enough vacuum to run the power brakes. I purchased the car from Ebay about a year ago for a winter project. Unlike the person who sold me the car before, I will be honest and explain all the pro's and cons about the vehicle. I did a lot of work to get the car to the point where it's reliable but of course it's an old car and there are always some small issues. The 350 2bbl engine has been upgraded to a 4bbl (800 cfm Rochester Q-jet) carb. It's been tuned up and runs well. It has upgraded front and rear sway bars, so it handles very well. The suspension wear parts will need to be replaced but nothing major. As noted in the pics, there are some small rust spots at the bottom of the fenders, rear quarters, under the battery and pin holes in the trunk but no large rust patches. There's a couple dings but nothing major. The floorboards and frame are solid. The interior is nice, especially the whole dash area, the seats are okay but it must have been exposed to some moisture because there's a musty smell, but that's not a big problem. The last issues, when the engine warms up, the oil light flickers in drive. There's no ticking or rod knock noises, it runs smooth. The gas gauge seems to have a bad ground....I haven't had the time to work that issue. I have the spare, the jack and accessories, a new package tray and a rust free passanger fender that I will include in the purchase price. The vehicle came with 14" Buick rally wheels and older tires and I will replace the 15" wheels and tires with what came with the vehicle. THE 15" WHEELS AND TIRES WILL NOT COME WITH THE CAR. I will be keeping those for my next project, I prefere the 70-72 body style. It's getting harder and harder to find a decent project car that's solid. Here's one that wont't disappoint you. Please ask questions before you bid because the car is sold "as-is". I have a 100% rating because I don't play games. If you have any questions, you can email me at vasq145@aol.com. Good luck bidding!
