This is a nice clean 1956 Ford F500 (no ebay listing option to select an F500 so I used F100). It has the original 272 V8 and T98 4 speed transmission - both in good running condition. Paint condition is 'driver' quality and what you see has been on the truck for at least 5 years (when I first saw the truck) but could be much older than that. The point here is there is very little rust to note. Some typical areas like the very bottom of doors show slight rust and a very small bubble on the cab corner. Cab corners are not 'bondo'd' and are original good metal. The inner right fender (painted black under the hood) has a spot up by the hinge which is the worst of it. The floor is solid as is the hood and fenders along with the overall cab. The entire truck is in good overall condition. It does have its share of scratches and chips. One picture of the right fender at the bottom rear shows where the 'new' paint has come off a bit revealing either the primer or the original red paint - but it is not rust. The hood has chips where it hits the fenders when opened and closed. A good buffing/polishing may really make it shine more. The engine has had some general work done to it (updated distributor, new oil pump, new coil, spark plugs, etc.) and the trans has had new bearings and syncros installed. It still likes to jump out of third gear but works fine if you keep your hand on the stick (very little pressure needed) and ensure it does not come out till you shift to 4th gear. The radiator was just serviced (had a small leak on the upper tank seam) and pressure tested. The front two drive shaft U joints were just replaced also. This truck has had 'recent' brake work done on all four wheels including new wheel cylinders, brake shoes and some hoses along with a new rear wheel stud/nut. Brakes are working fine including the emergency brake. All gauges work which include analog temperature and fuel gauges as well as battery and oil lights. It has a new speedometer cable and the speedometer works fine. All exterior lights work including high/low beams, running, brake and clearance lights. It has a new heater core, heater hoses and duct hoses for the defroster which all work fine. Glass is in OK condition - side windows could use replacing and the windshield has some wiper scratches in it from sometime in the past. Windshield wipers work with electric motor drive as they should. Flat bed has recent new wood sides using the original hardware to link the sides together. Bed has hardwood underneath what is welded on plate steel on the top to outer bed frame. Also new bed frame support wood and mounting hardware. Truck has a Reese hitch that I used to tow a car trailer with, etc. This truck is very drivable. I've used it regularly and have towed with it on the freeway (car on trailer) at highway speeds with no problem. It is currently tagged and insured however Georgia does not title older vehicles so this will be a 'bill of sale' transaction. There is no title per State of Georgia. Truck is being sold as is, no warranties. $500 due upon sale to PayPal (within 48 hours of auction close) and the rest due by cash or certified check within 10 days of auction close.
