1978 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbodiesel Up for sale is my 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbodiesel. The VIN is 11612012000328. I am selling the car because I am moving. I am a Mercedes tech and I have done all repairs and maintenance myself. I have owned the car for the last year and a half. It has been a great car and has not caused me any great problems. It has 262,730 miles on it. Only diesel fuel has been run in it, never waste vegetable oil or biodiesel. It gets 22 mpg combined driving. The car has never been in an accident. It is grey in color with a blue interior. I will give information about the car in GOOD and BAD catagories: The GOOD: New windshield New battery New door and trunk seals New steering tie rods, drag link, shock, and column shaft damper 4 wheel alignment performed Wheels refinished Windows recently tinted Grille in immaculate condition Upgraded to european headlights All interior and exterior lighting operational Oil changed every 5000 miles Valve adjustment done last oil change Engine performs well and smoothly Transmission shifts great Front pump and bellhousing seals on transmission replaced Many engine seals and gaskets replaced All brakes in good shape, front pads and rear hoses replaced Tires in great shape and wearing evenly New rear flexdisc and driveshaft carrier bearing New engine and transmission mounts Automatic AC works AC converted to R134A AC recently charged Sunroof works Interior in great shape- no rips, tears, or stains Drivers seat rebuilt Drivers window works Odometer and all instrument cluster gauges work, clock is a bit slow Windshield washer pump rebuilt New radio and 4 speakers Spare tire and owners manuals present Vacuum actuated door locks all work and do not leak Left rear door lock diaphram replaced New hoodstar The BAD: Rear window seal leaks and needs replacement Rust in bottom of quarters and in trunk, the car was originally purchased in Boston Engine makes ticking noise. It has done this as long as I have owned the car, never caused a problem, and does not get better or worse Cruise control inop Front end and differential bushings need replacement Oil leak at oil cooler line fitting and filter housing Transmission leak at output shaft seal Heater case occasionally drips water on your feet during high AC usage Smokes on cold startup Both passenger windows bind Rear drivers window can only be rolled down from door switch, console switch needs replacement Ignition switch replaced, so ignition and door keys do not match Car has been repainted a while back Paint beginning to peel on front doors That's all I can think of right now.
