Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite. I am selling this car for a very good friend. It has been in his family for about eight (8) years. In that period of time it has been driven less than 1,000 miles. It has had new tires and brakes installed, transmission and clutch replaced, a paint job by MAACO, and a new interior made and installed by Marine Upholstery, the premier classic car upholsterer in the area. The interior is still near perfect. Mechanically, we know of no issues other than a slight leak from the differential. The body, as can be seen in the photos, is in need of further restoration. It has some rust, but floorboards are solid. Trunk has one small rusted through spot but is solid enough to weld over it. As we all know, MAACO does a pretty decent paint job, but their body work leaves much to be desired. As I stated, I am selling this little beauty for a very good friend. Any questions you might have can be emailed to me through eBay and I'll get the answer for you, or you can contact the owner, Joe Wheelbarger by phone at 937-474-1982 or 937-401-2097. It is for sale locally so I must reserve the right to remove it at anytime during the auction. Other than that, it will sell to the highest bidder at the end of the auction with absolutely no reserve. All in all, this would make a very nice car for someone good at body work or someone with a very, very good friend who is good at body work. Other than the body (not show worthy, but a pretty decent cruiser as it is) it's a pretty sweet little ride. This is the second listing of this vehicle. The first was one of those guys who bids, then trys to renegotiate the price when he comes to pick it up. In this case he offered 61% of his bid price or he would give me negative feedback. Please understand he made no deposit, was out no money at all and traveled only 70 miles to see it. His excuse was the mileage had been misrepresented. We obviously refused to sell for 61% of his bid and he was true to his word by leaving negative feedback which I'm sure eBay will remove as soon as I report him as a non-paying bidder which I will be able to do in four more days. Please understand that no one can guarantee the mileage of a vehicle made prior to 1973 as the speedometers were too easy to alter and, more importantly, there was no law against doing it. The only exception to this is if the vehicle had been in the same family since new. The Title reads 70,000 miles and (beyond Limit). The speedometer wasn't working when the owners daughter first bought the car. The now working speedometer reads 56,000+ miles. All of that aside, it is as stated, a good running and operating vehicle with a beautiful finished interior and a body that is somewhat less than perfect.
