I qualified for a loan from Carmax here in Austin,Tx, but they will not finance older vehicles, only 2003 on up. Sorry." For sale is a 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am -- I am listing this for a friend, (but I can answer your questions, just give me some time to ask and forward.) The Good: Runs excellent- Looks great All Original Original spare with gas cylinder. Original pouches to hold T-Tops. New head gaskets, (the shop said valves were fine.) Rebuilt steering column. undercoating still in good shape. T-Tops DO NOT leak. The Bad: Some Rust - Spot on front fender the size of a dime, Both door skins have rust on the lower section, driver side may have to be replaced. Spot about 3 inches long at the center of the T-Top, Hood latch doesn't lock in the full down position. Driver side door handle is cracked, (Still works). Rear brake lines need to be replaced
