Very fine and well documented car that has been gone over by my mechanic. This is a "get in and drive car". Go to a cruise night or nice country road trip. I am the third owner. This is not an altered or customized car , it sold new as it appears now...except it had whitewalls..but redlines were offered. Records included go back to the salesmans card, deposite slip and canceled checks. I have the shop manual, "Protecto Plate" and service work from years ago. Too much to write about here. Options on this are Cordova top, Decor Group, wiper-dual speed, washer for wipers, power steering soft ray glass, console floor shift( original although it looks like modern hot rod style) 2BBL carb, Tempest Torque Transmission and radio. I have a new antenna ( correct) and the radio does come on. Car has new front floor mats and a model of the Lemans is included. Standard items on the Lemnas were, Delux steering wheel, side Mldgs, bucket seats, cigar lighter, custom trim, . This car runs excellent. Head lights,signal lights,dome light, wipers, heater, horn etc all work. Engine runs smooth and has plenty of power...actually feels like a lot for this car. Has very good brakes , shifting and handling. Tight body without rattles. I have placed small magnets around the lower parts of the body and they stick hard everywhere. This car has had one repaint and it is very finne work. No orange peal, runs or problem areas. No rust spots. This a Sport model of the Tempest and was actually offered as seperate "Lemans model". It has a 326 V8 (interchangeable with larger engines such a 389 and 421) and this car was one year before the GTO. The 63 was well written up at the time as innovative having a rear axel similar to the Corvette (independent rear axel) . The 326 engine is basically the same on the outside having a smaller bore and stroke that the larger. The famous car of the day was The Farmer who was a drag racer who had a 421 in his 63 Pontiac Tempest. Includes new Chrome Valve Covers in the box. This car is a 326 2bbl and not a 389 three 2 bbl as may have been purchased the following year.
