I have a 1970 El Camino for sale, I bought it a couple months ago planning it to be my daily driver. I bought an air conditioning system to install, installed an electric fan and thermostat switch for the electric fan, had bed liner put on, and a couple other things. Long story short is while I was having the couple upgrades done I lost the title prior to registering it in my name. (I think one of my roomates threw it away with the mail). Anyways I started looking into the process of getting the new title in my name in California where I live, and finally realized that anything involving the DMV and California is nearly impossible to get done. The car has a clear New Mexico title and I hate to give up on it but I just don’t have the time or motivation to see it out through the california system, so I am selling it with the hope that someone in california is better at navigating through the state system than I am or someone from at different state with a reasonable registration process buys it. The only things I have done to it are install the electric fan and buy (but not installed yet) the a/c system and add the bedliner. It has a recently rebuilt good running 350 with I believe a 600 holley carb, 10 bolt rear end, 14” rally sport wheels, the paint looks really nice from 15 feet away but up close there are some imperfections and a couple little cracks in the paint. From what I know there is no bondo and the body is really solid with no rust. The tires are a little dry rotted and should probably be replaced and the interior is OK but by no means a show car. All I wanted was a nice daily driver and this would have been a great one if it wasn’t for the mess of losing the title. A $500 deposit is due within 24hrs of the auction end and the car is sold as-is so ask any questions you might have and look at the pictures closely.
