COPIED AND PASTED FROM MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE.... On the surface, the ALMS TT's reason for being is to commemorate Audi's American Le Mans Series wins and championships. Which it does. But it also represents the most performance-oriented iteration of Audi's wonderfully Bauhaus sports car: closed coupe body, 225-hp turbo-four/six-speed combo, quattro AWD, and a handsome new 18-in. wheel-and-tire combo.Just 1000 ALMS editions will be built, all of them sporting this coupe/high-output/manual-trans configuration. Choose between Misano red over silver/gray Nappa leather interior or Avus Silver over red. We don't normally go for the tacky stripes and otherwise overadornment that often comes with commemorative models, but a discrete AudiSport or ALMS badge might have actually been cool.The ALMS does prove to be the "driver's TT." It handles with confidence and precision, all controls offering a nice feel and useful feedback. The quattro AWD quells any notion of the torque steer present in the FWD TT and can be modulated from under- to oversteer via throttle. Brakes? Astounding. The only fly in its 225-hp ointment is the transition to extreme boost at around 3000 rpm. It's just too abrupt, though if you work the engine between that level and redline, there's power aplenty.Desire the Maximum Strength TT? The limited-edition ALMS is it, so far. THERE IS ONE 5'' LONG SCRATCH IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR (COULDN'T GET IT TO SHOW UP IN THE PICTURE), THE STEERING WHEEL AND WHEELS NEED TO BE REFINISHED AND ONE OF THE POWER STEERING HOSES IS A TAD LOOSE (NOT MUCH), OTHER THAN THAT; IT'S FLAWLESS. IT DOES HAVE BOSE STEREO, HEATED SEATS AND EVERYTHING WORKS. I WILL ADD THAT THIS IS A SMOKE FREE CAR AND ALTHOUGH IT'S IN INCREDIBLE CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE AND MILEAGE, IT'S STILL A USED CAR. THERE IS NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. FEEL FREE TO COME BY AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE OR HAVE IT INSPECTED AT THE MECHANIC OF YOUR CHOICE. I HAVE 90% OF THE SERVICE RECORDS AND ALL WARRANTIES ON NEW PARTS AND SERVICES ARE TRANSFERRABLE.
