Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1996 Audi A6 Quattro station wagon. It is deep metallic blue with white leather interior and has 190,600 miles on it. Some of the good features: · Car just completed the annual Pennsylvania state inspections (service >$550) and is now good through August 2011. · Car has automatic transmission and Audi’s “Quattro” all wheel drive system. The transmission was rebuilt at 81,500 miles. · Timing belt, serpentine belt, tensioner, idler and water pump replacement service was performed at 173,000 miles (i.e., 17,600 miles ago). · Fantastic Bose premium music system. · Six CD changer located in rear driver’s wheel well. · This model has the third row seat that collapses when not needed into the rear cargo area. · Nice Audi alloy wheels and good tires. · Has sliding sun roof, heated front seats, cargo shade to hide cargo, roof rack, etc. · Car comes with original owner’s manuals and two factory keys. Some of the problems: · A few days after the state inspections were completed, the check engine light came on and car started losing antifreeze. With no obvious antifreeze puddles or leaks, we took it back to the mechanic and he hypothesized that the antifreeze is going out the exhaust, implying a leaking gasket, head or engine problem. We cannot invest more money into this car at this time to find out exactly what the problem is. · There are scratches and rub marks in the paint, most located on the bumpers. · There is a small triangular piece of the driver’s rear bumper missing; see picture. · The white leather is showing its age (stiffness and cracking), but the worst spot is on the passenger’s front seat; see picture. The car is being sold as-is, so we highly recommend you inspect it before buying it. Since it looses antifreeze, we have taken the car off the road. The engine starts and runs fine, but we do not want it to overheat. It can definitely be driven onto a car trailer for transport home.
