Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1977 Honda GL1000 Goldwing with only 28,800 miles! A friend of mine let it sit for a couple of years and when he went to start it, the carburetors were gummed up and it wouldn't start so he went out and bought a new Harley. I purchased it from him but don't have the time to restore it. The things I know it needs are the carbs rebuilt and re-synched. I purchased the K&L kits for all 4 and they are included. The battery was no good and is missing. The left front fork leaks a little and the front tire is starting to show the first signs of dry rot. The front brakes probably need to have the calipers re-done as they're sticking a little. There are is a slight stain on the center of the faux tank (see picture) I'm not sure if it will buff out or not. Finally, a little brake fluid appears to have been spilled on the right shroud. It caused a 3" section of pinstriping to come off and the Honda emblem is missing on the right side of the tank cover. The light bar has some rust and should probably be replaced. You can find them pretty inexpensively here on e-bay. On the good side, the chrome is all in good condition with the exception of some surface rust under the trunk on the mount. The rear tire is almost new. The side covers are great! The fiberglass is good on the bags and fairing with no stress cracks. The bike looks great from 5 feet away. It ran just fine when it was parked in 2007. The windshield is clear. There are hundreds of listings for parts for the bike on e-bay. This would be a great project for anyone who wants to do some of the work themselves. I don't think it would be practical for someone to pay a shop to do it all. If you have questions, please be sure to e-mail me through the link. The reserve is what I have in the bike at $500.00. It's well worth that with the low mileage. I'll accept a $300.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction and the balance when you pick it up. I will not ship the bike. We live at Lake of the Ozarks Missouri, about a 3 hour drive from St. Louis or Kansas City. Thanks for looking and good luck!
