Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1959 Austin Healey Bug Eyed Sprit. I am listing this car for my parents who own a mini storage facility in Troutman, NC. They had a tenant who died and inside his unit was this car. They couldn't find a title so they went through some red tape and now have a form that allows them to sell the car. The buyer can then send the form in to get a new title. If you have any questions about this process please ask. Since my parents know more about the process than I do, you can talk to them and they will be happy to explain the process. As for the car, it's in good condition. Again the previous owner has kept it in storage for quite awhile. We think he was restoring because the seat and top look like new. The body looks great except for a spot behind the front right tire and in front of the hood. You may want to give it a paint job to freshen it up. (see the photos for body condition). We think he may have upgraded or replaced the engine because it superb (see photos). The engine number is 9c-u-h-19614. We do not have a key so as of now it is being cranked with a switch (look at interior photos and you can see the switch). The odometer reads 32320 but we are not sure how accurate this is because the engine looks so new or it could have been upgraded or restored. It could very well be correct, or the previous owner may not have reset it if he replaced or upgraded the engine and unfortunately we have no way of knowing for sure. If there are any other photos or information we can get you about the car please let us know. We will try our best to get the correct information to you ASAP. Also included in this auction are a few parts that were in the unit with the car. We did not include photos of these parts because they are extras. If you need any more photos or information about these parts please let us know. The items are: 4-Tires & rims mounted 1-Exhaust pipe 1-Front bumper 1-Box miss parts 3-Austin healey hubcaps 4-Hub cap centers Well I think that's about it. Please study the photos ask any questions you may have about the car before you bid. If possible please come and see the car in person. The car and parts are being sold as is. Also, we can't deliver it so it will be the buyer's responsibility to come and pick it up. Also, only a cashier's check or money order from a certified US National bank or cash in person will be accepted. Thank you for taking a look at our auction and I hope we can do business together soon. On Aug-19-10 at 21:50:05 PDT, seller added the following information:I wanted to add some new information that I just found out. Many people have asked to use a magnet to see if the body is metal or not. Thursday afternoon I was able to try the magnet trick. The magnet stuck to most of the body. The only area it didn't stick well to was the front right panel over the front right tire. The magnet acted like it wanted to stick but didn't as if it wasn't strong enough. I'm not sure what this means. My best guess is the panel is metal with bondo or something over it. I am not very knowledgeable about cars and body work so that is a guess and not 100% sure. If anyone has any more questions I will do my best to get an answer. The best thing is that you come by and look over the car yourself. It is in a storage unit and easy to look over. If you want to stop by let me know and we'll arrange it. Also, I have photos of all the extras listed. If you want to see them let me know and I will email them to you. Thanks, photopro3376On Aug-19-10 at 22:13:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I figured out how to add the photos of the extra items that comes with the car to the auction so they are among the original photos of the car. Thanks agan On Aug-21-10 at 16:25:39 PDT, seller added the following information: We have had a lot of people concerned with the form that allows the buyer to get the title. The main question they have is when will they get the title. We are hoping the buyer can get it within a few days but since this is the first time we have sold a car this way we honestly can't say for sure. So what we want to do is to put the winning bidders money into escrow using www.escrow.com which is an approved eBay escrow site. The money will stay in escrow until all the paperwork is in order. We feel that this is is the best way to protect both parties. We want anyone placing a bid to feel secure that their investment is safe. We the seller will pay the escrow fees. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank you, photopro3376
