This van has been sitting in my driveway for 3 years now. I bought it on ebay a long time ago from a seller who described it as this exactly... It does run but could stand some work. It has a new canopy, brakes and balljoints. The tires are in real nice condition, the frame is good and the body is fair. Plus it also has a porsche engine. Here is how the mechanic described it when I bought it and towed it home... Diagnose: No start Symptom: Engine will not start Found no voltage at (aftermaket electric) fuel pump. Current wiring should be replaced to correct poor installation. Performed temporary repair of current wiring to correct fuel pump inoperative. Charged battery, tested starter and wiring, and found starter motor slow to crank engine. Suspect starter motor will need replacing to correct. Vehicle undercarriage has structural rust/holes in it. Vehicle will need extensive body repairs to pass NH State Inspection. So basically I payed 1,625 for a van that should have been sold for parts because I was 17 and had always dreamed of having a VW van and the second I found one I had enough money for I got. Bad move on my part and I hope that the next person to own this will be able to get it running somehow or just use it for parts. The inside includes a sink, icebox, lots of closets/storage space, pop top bed, folding bed in back, fold-out table, foot rest, and more! The outside does have rubber on parts of it for some reason, possibly to cover rust? I was never sure. Any questions feel free to ask!
