Vehicle Detail
1971 International Scout II (810) This is the first year of the Scout II. I have rebuilt the truck. The engine was rebuilt in late 2008 and the transmission was rebuilt in early 2009. The truck has been rewired and the major rust areas have been cut out and replaced with metal. The paint was stripped and a fresh paint was applied. The front drive shaft is not installed, but the transfer case is completely in tact and was working prior to the transmission rebuild. The center cab mounts (behind the doors) were replaced in 2007. When they were replaced, they were placed about an inch too high. This does not affect the function, drivability, anything. It mainly affects how the doors close. I have shimmed the rear and front cab mounts and the doors close very well. The solution to the issue is replace the bushings in the front and rear. It is very easy and will only take a couple of hours with hand tools. I do not have time to play in this truck and my commute is going to get longer. The Scout currently gets about 14 mpg. I drive it everyday to work. Nothing is required to drive this vehicle daily. List of work: Engine rebuilt and bored 0.060 over. New pistons (flat top) and all seals replaced. Transmission (TorqueFlight 727 3 speed) rebuilt. Spring Over Axle conversion Halogen H4 headlights American Autowire 15 circuit kit installed. Wiring is completely new. Dash backlit with blue LEDs 6 Point rollcage mounted to frame Leather electric seats from 2000 Buick LeSabre. No, they are not connected. Yes, they work. Yes, I am sure. Dana 44 axles front and rear with posi front and rear I believe the gears are 3.55, but I am not 100% certain. Disc brakes front, drum rear. Master cylinder was replaced in 2009. Alternator replaced in 2008. Dual exhausts with glass packs. New in 2008. Edelbrock 600cfm 4bbl carb. Manual choke. Interior completely lined with spray in bed liner. Spare tire is full size and mounted to the roll cage on the driver side. Back seat is installed. Child seat mounts from Toyota Tacoma mounted to seat frame. The link to the build thread is http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86170 It details the entire build from 2009. What remains to be repaired: There is a small gap where the floor was replaced on the driver side. The heater valve cable needs to be replaced. Defroster vents need to be replaced. They are currently not in the vehicle. That is the majority of it. The truck is also available for sale locally and this sale can be cancelled at any time. Buy It Now price will supersede local sale. I can coordinate with shipping within reason. Paypal can be used.
