Relisting because of non-paying winner, great car ready to go, serious bidders only please: For sale is my 2000 VW Jetta, 1.8T (turbo), black outter, black (dark gray) interior. I'm the original owner of this car and have taken very good care of it throughout. Oil changes every 3-4k miles, regular maintanence done through and only recently taken care of a few routine repairs as needed. I expected to have this car to 300k, but unfortunately barely drive it much anymore to give it the attention it deserves. I'm selling it as-is, as a used car that runs well and has some miles on it. The car drives very well for the miles on it. It has a 1.8T (turbo) engine and I can still feel the turbo's acceleration every time I drive it, makes things a little more fun. Aside from its natural age, it has no known mechanical issues requiring immediate repair. It can drive right away. The exterior is in good shape and keeps a good shine after a wash. It has some cosmetic nicks and scratches as you'd expect with a car this age (described more below). Interior is very, very clean and well kept. Trunk is large and perfectly clean. Has new full size spare tire, stored nicely below trunk storage area. Tinted, powered sunroof is great and does the flip up and slide back, all by simple control on inside ceiling. Has Sony CD player indash, with front aux inputs for ipod-type device. Includes original factory premium sound with small Amp in trunk so sound system is quite good. Car has approx 168000 miles, some signficant history:- Tunes-ups done approx every 30000 miles with last one at about 145k (at approx 60/90/120/145), mostly to keep it running in top condition- Front tie rods replaced recently to stiffen up the front suspension- New battery and alternator installed last Fall.- New rear breaks and rotors installed in Dec- Timing belt, water pump, etc replaced at 115k and doing fine- oil changed every 3-4k consistently. car tends to burn oil in later life (as most do), so I generally check and fill the oil up at midpoint between changes, works fine. Car generally does not need repairs, and aside from routine maintaince I generally only have to bring it in about once a year for something smallish. I've been quite happy with that. All known issues, to be 100% clear on condition. Not trying to sound bad, as it is a great car, just want to be 100% honest. I tried to photograph all these, for clarification:- Glove compartment handle is broken, so I don't use it. I've fixed it before, so I decided not to do it again.- Small outer cosmetic issues include: - a lengthly scratch on front hood (noticable mainly when close), and on the right, rear door. - a small scuff on the front passenger door - rear bumper has its fair share of bumper marks from parallel parking in later years- Tires are getting low but passed inspection fine.- Air bag light is "On" on dash (engine light is not on). Airbag light not required to pass NY state inspection I believe.- no other issues flagged at MA inspection in June A few more notes:- car engine is very quiet--when stopped at a stop light, sometimes you can barely hear the engine running (you can see the tachometer hovering a little above 0 though). When coasting it is similar. When cruising normally or on the highway it has a subtle hum but nothing too intense.- main dashboard lights (speed/tachometer area) are a great blue at night, with red dials, which I've always liked. the accessories have a simple red which enhances this. you can of course adjust the brightness of this up or down to your liking.
