Vehicle Detail
Roll-Royce Silver Wraith II 1979 FULLY RESTORED This is a beautiful Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 4 door sedan, dark coffee color and with a tan leather interior. Original 105,000 miles. Garage kept. In very good condition inside and out. This car is the result of an earlier restoration of considerable proportions. My father owned this car but he passed away a couple of months ago. I am selling this car because I need space in my garage. My father was a very fussy collector. The car was totally restored some 7 years ago at a cost of, in excess of, $23,000. Restoration was completed; the car is still missing some trimming decorations. The car was stored in the garage since 2003; it has never been driven after restoration. Two weeks ago I replaced the battery and engine starts without any problem. I drove around the block just to make pictures for Ebay. Mechanically the car is good condition. The engine truly purrs and gear-change is smooth and quiet. The car is very spritely in power which is a good sign of a well cared for and good condition motor. The transmission shifts well and the brakes stop well and do not make any noise. The only noise comes from exhausting pipe. As part of the restoration, the car was stripped to the bare metal, with the chrome removed and all windows removed. The repaint cost, in excess, $7,000. All bright-work was then polished (and re-chromed where required) and the car reassembled with all new body rubber seals and gaskets. The interior is all new; the headliner was redone in original quality broad-cloth, carpets, leather binding, over-rugs made to RR specifications. The re-upholstering of the leather is a perfect match to factory original with seat patterns down to every seam exactly as per a new Rolls-Royce. The interior re-upholstery work cost approximately $7,000. The door panels and the trunk-lining are also new. The light African burl walnut is completely restored (cost of $2500) was redone by a local RR wood-refinishing expert. Tires are good and hubcaps are straight and the stainless steel is shiny. (Please see pictures) No trunk lock. The exterior of the car is straight and is totally rust free. The paint is in very good condition with the finish high in luster and consistent. It has few little nicks; the paint in some areas seems to have lacquer cracks. There are 4 or 5 small spots where the clear coat is beginning to peel. There are a few door nicks on the door edge of the passenger side door. There is also a scratch down the length of the car on the right side, but is very faint. However, they do not distract from the overall appearance of the car. (Please see pictures.)
