For your consideration a 1952 Chevrolet Canopy Express truck. Fresh from a local estate. As you can see the truck is in need of restoration. It is complete but has quite a bit of rust and needs totally restored. The motor still turns over but I have not tried to start it. It has a straight 6 cylinder engine with a three speed manual shift on the column transmission. The engine looks to be complete. There is no water in the oil. The truck last ran in 1988 and has been stored since. The windshield is broken and the right door glass is cracked. The left door glass is off the track and down in the door. The cab and bed floor are both pretty rusty. The tires still hold air. The back tail gate is curved and folds down. I am not sure if the seats inside are original. They are bucket seats and I think it should have a bench seat. This is the first one of these Canopy Express trucks I have ever seen. They were low production and I think only 200 or 300 were produced in 1952. The sides and back are open and are supposed to have canopy flaps with snaps. They were used to haul and vend goods that could be loaded or unloaded through the sides or back. For example a farmer selling produce. An excellent candidate for restoration or if you want a neat one of a kind street rod. The truck comes with a clear title. I am selling it with no reserve. It is being sold for local pick up only. I can arrange delivery within 200 miles for a reasonable fee. The truck is located outside of El Paso, Illinois 61738 Prospective bidders are welcome to view it as it is stored outside. I can help load the truck when pick up is made. Payment on the truck is required within 7 days of the end of the auction. Pick up does not have to be made right away and I can store the truck until it is convenient for the buyer to make pick up within a reasonable amount of time at no extra charge.
