Vehicle Detail
This is a sad day for me, this is truly my Dads car, he dated my mother in this car in 1957. I thought I was to inherit it, but he has informed me he want's to sell it. So as a good son I'm helping him out. While he did not buy the car new from the dealer, he did buy it from the lady that bought it new from the MG dealer, Newport beach in 1952. He bought it in 1953 or 54 he not totaly sure. The car only had 4000 miles or so on it at that time. The car now has just a little more than 67000 original miles total, and it has remained in the family's care for it's whole life, in the garage, covered on blocks. The story goes, that when he first bought the car, shortly there after he joined the Air Force and then meet my future mother. The dating situation was that if he wanted to take her out, he had to take her sister along as a chaperone. They all three did not fit in the car, so he traded cars with his father. My Grandfather kept the Car covered and garaged until a time in my Dads life when he was ready to take it back. Since that time he as maintained the car and repaired things to as good as new condition. My Dad is what some would say a craftsman and his work is impeccable. The car runs and drives like the day it was made. He recently had the car repainted by a shop that specialized in MG paint and restoration. everything is original and works. The engine has been re ringed and a valve job just to keep it fresh. New wiring and some upholstery as needed. The top is new and goes up and down with ease. the side curtains will need to be redone but are complete. He calls it a 95% restoration that you can enjoy and drive. If you are looking for an MG that has not been molested and patched back together this is your car, You can even talk to the man that has owned and maintained the car for the last 56+ years. Everything that he has that relates to the car goes with the sale. The reserve is set at a responsible price and he want's it to go to a good home. Bid to win you won't be sorry!
