This is a black plate California car. I bought it from a collector in Oregon who never registered the car. I shipped it to New York, where it is now. I bought this car because it's an honest, SOLID car. The cars that I looked at here on the East Coast, even the so-called 'restorations', tended to have shiney new paint jobs on the top side and rust holes and welded patches on the bottom side. This car has neither! She sports a 'California re-spray'. Not a show stopping paint job but very presentable. It's what is under the car that is more important. There is very minor surface rust where the paint has chipped over the years but the dog legs, the frame and body panels are solid. Unheard of here in the Northeast. The pictures of the undercarrage that I'll include will show rust- the frame has not been detailed for show- but every bit is SOLID. I did upgrade the interior to leather by Heritage Upholstery with wool carpets. I also lined the interior with Koolmat insulation so that I could drive on even the hottest days without melting my sneakers. The engine has been completely rebuilt, balanced and upgraded with many Denis Welch goodies including roller rockers,oil pump, cast aluminum sump, headers, timing gears, clutch and radiator. I have all of the original engine parts. It also has upgraded oil seals and a mild cam and stainless exhaust. The tranmission has been resealed. U-joints are new. She runs cool and strong. Never overheats. Transmission and overdrive work perfectly. The top and tires are in good condition. I have the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. Numbers match. She's among the last 500 produced. This is a beautiful, very solid driver that needs very little. A great investment. Wish I didn't have to sell her.
