The item up for auction is a Navy Blue 1980 Mercedes Benz 450 SL Convertible with Hard Top. This car runs but needs work. The engine and transmission are in good condition. This car is 30 years old and has only 130,020 original miles on it! A real fun car to drive. Recently I had a mechanic look at the car and this is what I know: Compression good Engine and transmission is good condition Needs new exhaust system – will not pass NC safety inspection New belts and hoses needed Some fuses are blown Needs head lamp switch Rust holes in floor board Driver-side seat belt is stuck Soft top is moldy but still good, windows cloudy Seals for hard top and windows are bad Retract latch is rusty and cable is broken Interior is in good shape No body damage It’s clean! Car will be sold AS IS. Car is located in Charlotte NC. Buyer is responsible for pick up and/or delivery. Please note, if purchasing from a state other than North Carolina you may purchase a 10 or 30-day license plate to drive it to your destination. Please be aware that you must have insurance on the car prior to purchasing a NC license plate. The vehicle must also pass NC state safety inspections before a license plate will be issued. I had a mechanic look at the car and he told me the floor boards have rust when he looked underneath while the car was on a lift. I am unable to see the rusted floor boards while sitting in the car. There is no rust on the body of the car, that I can see. The body is in very nice condition. The passenger side mirror is missing - the mirror casing is in good shape and attached, just the mirror part is missing. This car was given to me to sell. *** Please note: the winning bidder may pick up the car when auction closes and the final balance is paid.
