Here is a black on black, German car enthusiast owned 1995 BMW 540i. It has the desirable 6 speed manual transmission coupled with the bulletproof Alusil M60 BMW engine. This low production version has the desirable factory sport bolstered seats, stiffer and lower suspension and larger brakes. This is a last year production year E34 chassis which was designed in the 80's with a cost no object mindset, la creme de la creme E34 one could say. It has much stricter build requirements as well as better quality materials than its superseding E39 chassis but also delivers superior performance marks, has better road feel and is far less complex thus a more organic driving experience. I am the previous 2 owners and have had this vehicle for over a year, it has served me diligently as my secondary transportation. It is for sale only for a lack of parking space. This sport sedan is in good reliable mechanical condition. I have performed all required maintenance items and multiple additional tlc repairs. It doesn't have any of the typical E34 malady, the suspension and steering have no rattles nor shakes, the front seats recline and even the headrests are functional, the heating and cooling work and there are no vacuum leaks on the engine intake manifold, and lastly no radiator or valve cover leaks. The car has no mechanical problems but the rear brakes could use attention as the pads are wearing thin. All luxury amenities are functional, multi-position sunroof, windows, A/C, keyless entry and many more to list. This car was previously owned by an elderly gentleman who owned a collection of 5 nearly identical BMWs. This 15 year old car has been well taken care after but does show some wear. It has never been in an accident, all panels are straight, the headlight/radiator frame and hood hinges are straight and do not hide accident repair, as are the rear bumper supports and spare tire underbelly. The paint is deeply reflective and clean of road grime as it was professionally detailed, polished and waxed recently. Although, it does have rock chips, sand pitting on the hood and a couple other imperfections along the body. There is no rust on the car, underside, under doors, wheel wells or anywhere else, it isn't growing rust from anywhere; the suspension rework was "pleasant" as the hardware was an ease to remove. The driver side corner of the front bumper does have a crack but no missing pieces from a parking block incident. An alignment was done after the suspension rework which all took place post bumper damage. The interior is a smoke free environment. The headliner is clean. The leather seats are in good condition but the driver's position has an inch-long un-stitching on the upper bolster. As mentioned, the seats recline and are properly adjustable as well as being heated. The carpets are stain and damage free for the exception of the driver's floor mat which could use to be replaced as it is frayed in the middle, no burn marks. The dash and center console have no cracks but the passenger airbag's corners do not lay perfectly flat. The original radio was replaced with a cd-player with an ipod input, but no wires were cut as the proper adapter plugs were used, the original radio can be included. The dealership confirms that the very important Alusil Engine has been installed under warranty; the engine, thermostat cover and the water pump were all replaced under warranty at 83k. This means that the engine only has 100,000 miles as the replacement is a complete engine, top to bottom. The car sits on nearly new high performance all season Goodyear Eagle tires mounted on the original 15" factory special edition wheels, there is one missing center cap. The driver side door handle cover has been replaced since the photoshoot session. This legendary BMW has no aftermarket items except the radio. It has a factory installed Dinan engine ecu chip, but everything else is as per original factory build specification. This E34 is one of the nicest examples, it is ready to be taken on multiple cross country trips! Please ask any questions before bidding. There is no warranty implied.
