Vehicle Detail
1974 Nova for sale. 74,xxx original miles. Has the same body style as the 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973. The only difference between those years is the front grill. This car is in EXCEPTIONAL shape. Both interior and exterior are really REALLY nice. There are only a few MINOR blemishes. This car was purchased brand new in 1974. It has been in the same family since new up until last summer when I bought it. The grandson and son of the original owner did a frame off restoration 5 years ago. It sat in storage and was rarely driven since then. The son of the Original Owner was a mechanic. He did all of the mechanical on the car. The grandson was a body tech. he did all of the body work. I got a lot of paperwork and receipts with the car that document things. I also have the original sales receipt, owners manual, etc. I purchased the car in Ohio. I wasn’t able to find out a lot about the interior parts of the motor from the owner. What I do know is this; It is a 383 stroker pushing around 400 horsepower. It has an aftermarket serpentine system instead of the Vbelts. It also has a hydraulic brake booster. This thing is fast, strong, and sounds MEAN. It will rattle windows when it is idling. It has a lot of money into the motor. The guys who did the resto did it in a really cool way. From the outside it is a sleeper. The exterior and interior are bone stock. You couldn’t tell from the outside that it could melt the rear tires, unless you heard it run!! It has an automatic TH350 trans. I have a new CD player and speakers in the box, just haven’t hooked them up yet that will go with the car. Now the cool thing about this car, besides the above, is that I converted it to run on E85. It used to run on a 50/50 mix of race gas and premium, which was both expensive and a pain to do. E85 is high enough octane to make up for the race mix, but doesn’t rob ANY power. It does get a little worse gas mileage, but if that concerns you, you probably shouldn’t buy a 74 nova with a 383 to begin with. I still have all the parts to convert it back to run on the mix if for some reason you would rather do it that way. This car needs nothing to drive. It is in exceptional shape, and the price reflects that. The only thing wrong at this time is that it does leak a little oil and transmission fluid. Like I said, it sat for several years, and some of the gaskets are dried out. I don’t know exactly where the leaks are coming from. Vehicle is sold as is, where is with no warranty. I would suggest inspecting it if you are unsure of something. I do require a $200 deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Remainder must be paid in full with cashiers check or cash within 2 weeks.
