Vehicle Detail

Hi, This will be long winded so if you want to call instead home is 859-402-0688 cell 859-382-0553 or we will be at my moms in Louisville the 17th 502-935-9689. This is a 3 owner unrestored deluxe 5 window half ton that was ordered with a factory 4 speed. It was owned by original owner till 12 years ago and always kept inside. It has original paint, wood in bed and engine. The 2nd owner had several trucks and did the 3 changes you see. Painted wheels, side exhaust and repo turn signal kit. All would be easy to change back. The original exhaust hangers are still there. I'm only selling as I bought a 1973 4 speed mach 1 with 4184 original miles and we are adopting our 2nd child within the next 4 months. Mainly the Mach since I had to pay silly money to get it. Body has never been in an accident and is rock solid. See body ID tag condition, wood in bed and rest of pics. It would be a cake restoration and triple the value but in my opinion is way to nice to touch as there are not many out there unrestored. Hood, doors and front fenders are super straight as are original running boards. Rear fenders are not bad for unrestored but would take a little ding removal to be ready for paint. Bed is nice and straight down sides and across front. The tailgate is the nicest I've seend for original. I know truck inside and out and cannot find any signs of accidents. The bolts and washers are all consistent throughout. Rock solid cab corners. When the bed wood is solid you know the metal is on these. Interior has original seatcover and door panels. Seatcover is torn on drivers side but to still have the original cover is something. All gauges and lights work even the horn and interior light. Truck is still 6 volt. Wiring is still super intact and not patched togather minus rear lights where he added the signal. Can be removed easy enough. I took heater box out and cleaned. Core doesn't leak and heat works good. I installed new seal for cowl vent and cab is water tight. Rear flat window is cracked but hasn't expanded with me driving all summer. Original steering wheel is nice as are gauges. Mechanical engine is original 216 and runs fantastic. Has original carb and glass fuel filter, oil bath air filter. Also has original optional block heater. Raidator is also 1949 stamped and tight as can be. No one ever messed with this truck. I have driven all summer when nice and it runs so well and reliable. I changed all the fluids twice in trans axle engine and radiator. It runs 180 no matter how hot or long you sit in traffic. I put new valve cover gasket on it and there was no sludge in engine. Truck looks to have always been taken care of. I replaced the generator and voltage reg but kept original parts. I put new wheel cylinders, master cylinder and shoes. Brakes work real good. I would drive this truck to California If needed using back roads or course. It runs that good. Feels tight and noise free going down the road for a truck 61 years old. Battery is newer and truck has michalin tires with almost new tread. Oil pressure is 15 plus like it should be when running down road and charge gauge shows plus. I never have to charge battery so I know it works. Misc: I have 4 keys two original and 2 GM replacement. Truck runs straight down the road and drives like a dream. You could throw 5000. in paint and interior and have a 25000. truck, plus you know it started super nice but I would leave as is. People try to get this look. I've had Shelbys ( the original ones ) Vipers and GNXs and this truck gets more looks and questions than any of them. (I wish it was worth what they bring now.) A guy called this morning so I'll answer here some of his questions. I don't have the side spare tire carrier. There is a small slot in rear bumper where owner had a light trailor hitch. The only modification was the slot in bumper. The hubcaps are original. The guy repainted the chevrolet letters red on the caps. The surface rust on suspension is very light it looks worse with camera flash. When you look under it in person everyone is like man thats solid as can be. Cab, doors, hood and fr fenders are super straight and could be fixed by anyone ( front fenders have few light dings. Bed is very straight. The rear fenders have several light dings that would take some time to make straight before painting but again they are original so worth the time as they would be the only thing needing real work before painting. I did not test the heater valve on firewall. It was out of loop when I bought the truck so I assume it leaks. It is an option to adjust amount of heat and rebuilt valves run 85.00. I coated floor with eastwood. Factory mat is ripped up so I did not put back in. They make a repo from original tooling but I was looking for better original one along with a set or original paint wheels so truck would look complete period unrestored. Another phone call do doors shut well. Yes no up/down hinge play or drag.. Gauges work but speedo can be sticky when slowing down. Back flat window is cracked
