This wonderful R90S was originally sold by Dave Golden BMW in San Francisco. Two previous owners were aircraft mechanics, and as such, it has enjoyed a long history of excellent care. Purchased by the previous owner in '86 in California from the original owner, it remained in California until the owner then moved to Indiana in January of 1994. I purchased the bike in March of 2006. The bike, though very nice in appearance, has always been appreciated as a riding machine. To that end, it has had improvements over the years to make it more satisfactory in that endeavor. Chassis: Swing arm brace (San Jose BMW) Replacement front spokes - stainless Progressive springs Forks overhauled (@60K) Fork brace (Telefix) Koni shocks Aluminum upper triple clamp Teflon/ss braided brake lines Akront aluminum wheels USA switches and turn signal controls Center fuse mount Fiamm horns VDO clock Albert bar-end mirror Tinted windscreen (original height) Battery outlet plug & charger BMW bags Chrome bag mounts and rear rack New style peg rubbers - still have original style peg rubbers, new New headlight relay 2007 Tach and speedo rebuilt by Palo Alto 2007 Maintenance records and receipts since purchase of bike in 1986 by previous owner Other items: Still have the BMW shop towel Small road tool collection including Koni wrench, spark plug wrench Bike cover Bike lock - new in 2007 The bike has a Harley brand front tire, as I needed to have it replaced while on the road and that was the only shop that I could find with the proper size. The rear tire needs to be replaced. I might replace the brake pads as well as they squeak a bit. You will note, of course, that this R90S has the flush fuel cap tank. The previous owner told me that when the original owner tore the bike apart and went through it (when it was less than ten years old!) to bring everything back up to snuff, that he ordered a new tank from BMW rather than trying to repaint the original one. The one BMW sent, with factory paint, was the flush cap tank. As such, while the tank is not original to the bike, the paint is original BMW paint and striping. In a riding situation, this tank also makes for convenient use of a tank bag. There are, of course, scuffs and scrapes on the bike. I have taken pictures of the two worst areas, one being scuffs on the upper left side of the fairing from when the bike went down while pulling into a dirt lot, the other is buckle scratches down on the tank on the left side near the front seat.
