Vehicle Detail
For Sale by owner,1963 Plymouth Valiant Signett 200 Convertable (Classic Collectable) Not may of these out there anymore! Vehicle History. I purchased this car 24 years ago from a friend who had stored it in his garage for at least 10 years. I have always kept it garaged too Over the last 24 years, I have restored the engine, transmission, driveshaft, rear differential, suspension, brakes, cooling system, interior, and exterior. It is a good daily driver, looks really good, but will require some extra effort to get it to top show quality. There is to much work performed to list, so if you have questions, call me at 714-519-1564. I am a ASE Certified Master Mechanic and Machinist, and work in the auto trade full time and can give you the complete story on the car. I have many extra parts, and new rubber for the convertable top. If you want to hear it run, go to You Tube and type in 1963 Valiant, Signett 200 it will pop up. The engine has very low miles, the radiator is a recored custom with, 3 row cooling fins, Other things: New heater core, transmission rebuilt, differential rebuilt, front suspension work, new ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, brakes, and shocks. Rear leaf springs rearched and extra support added, new tires, newer top and upholstry, along with a new hydraulic top motor and rams. Top is electrically activacted. The front seats were done 15 years ago, and the rear seat four years ago along with the top and the convertable boot. The carburetor is professionally rebuilt by the Carb Shop, Costa Mesa, CA, and the car runs well. Newer battery, alternator, and starter. I have driven this car from LA to Las Vegas several times. The car still needs the door interior painted, and the panels touched up to look like new. The carpet is going on 20 years old, so to look new, it would need to be replaced, but servicable as is, no holes, just a bit faded. The bodywork and car are solid, but the paint does have a few flaws. If I was keeping it, I would just sand it down and respray it. It is what I call a 20 footer, looks great from 20 feet away. This is a nice car, but, the kids are going to college, so I need to sell her.
