Hello, I have up for auction a 1980 Pontiac TransAm Official Indy 500 Pace Car. There were only a little over 5,000 made and they are coming very rare to find. The good thing about this vehicle is it has all the manuals and I believe documentation to go with it. It has the paper showing all the options it has and what it cost to have extras. It sold new for 12,101.00 at Behler in Columbus Indiana on August 28, 1980. I'm selling this for a friend but I would not have listed it if it was junk due to me caring about my feedback. If I had the money, I would buy it! This will take very little $$$ to make this vehicle worth over 20,000. By the way, did I mention it has a low reserve? Don't let this great deal get away! Mechanical: The engine is a 301 V8 with Turbo. The engine was rebuilt at 62,616 miles and it now has 65,677 so it only has just over 3,000 miles on a rebuilt motor. It was rebuilt at Behler Pontiac and have the receipt to prove it has been done. The engine runs strong and fast and the transmission shifts smooth it drives straight as well. BODY: The body on the vehicle is good and solid and No Rusted Holes. It was being prepped for paint but he found another project that put a halt on this one and now he has decided to sale to have the cash to finish his new project. It has T-Tops that don't leak and even have the leather protective covers to go on top. The car was treated with Zeegard Zee-Glaze exterior paint protector on August 11, 1980 and have the proof on that as well. We also have extra parts such as the nose clip and rear fin and more (please see pictures). Interior: The car has the full power options with spec interior. We tested the AC in 90 degree weather and it blew cold air! The inside needs very little TLC. As you can see in the pictures it wouldn't hurt to get new carpet and there is a small crack on the dash due to heat which they are known to do. The seats have no rips or tears and they are very comfortable. Once again, it wouldn't take much to make this a show car and with all the documentation it will be worth the price... The over all of this vehicle, if I had to rate it on a 1 - 10 scale, I would give it a 8 and for the price I'm selling it for would be a 10.
