1986 Chevrolet Suburban Silverado C10 235,078 Original Miles 2ND OWNER FROM 1987 TO PRESENT!! VEHICLE CONDITION REPORT EXTERIOR: - No rust holes. There are two very small areas that could use some attention, but they have not changed in the past 5 years! (see pictures). - When there were any indications of rust, they were immediately and properly taken care of. - The body and frame of this truck have always been oiled using new, clean transmission fluid being sprayed on to preserve the vehicle from rusting. - No accidents causing any body damage except the rear bumper, which has been straigtened (see pictures). - Black ORIGINAL paint shines nicely. - There are two areas (both on the hood - see pictures) where the paint started chipping off about 8 years ago, but stoppped by itself in its present state. We chose not to paint the hood to preserve the originality of the finish. - Nice, straight sides with no waves whatsoever (see photos) - There is the typical GM water leak (rainwater, NOT antifreeze) from somewhere under the hood. I have found this to be true with the many other GM 1980s products I have owned. The sealant used dries up and cracks from age and water will begin a slow leak into the cabin. The Suburban has this issue but only if it is a major deluge of rain. The fix is fairly easy to do, but I have not had the time to deal with it. - Doors close without any major effort - Tailgate window works great (lock cylinder had to be replaced so key is currently different, but if you care, you can have it re-keyed). Tailgate does need a tiny bit of special effort to close, but the hinge is NOT loose in any way. - Perfect original floors, door jams, front inner skirts, and rocker panels. (see photos) INTERIOR: - All original grey/gray cloth & vinyl in excellent condition - The original front bucket seats were re-upholstered about 5 years ago by a factory professional, who used the original materials. - No dash cracks - Owned by a non-smoker and doesn't stink inside - All Power windows work - Driver's door shows minor wear, commensurate with the 235K miles showing (see photos) - Driver's door window moves extremely slow as the motor is worn, which is to be expected with 235k miles. - All instruments work, except that the gas gauge has started to malfuntion, but most likely from sitting for a little while MECHANICAL: - 235k Original miles on the 350C.I.D./5.7L, and very well looked after - 4-speed automatic transmission (700R4) (it is actually 5 speeds altogether, but it is classified as a 4-speed by GM) shifts smoothly and is incredibly strong(!), and was professionally rebuilt - Tires are fairly new Delta Majestic 15" tires mounted on good condition American Racing wheels that were bought about 14 years ago - The driver's side valve cover gasket will need to be replaced sometime soon as there is a very small "weep" of oil coming from it, but this is nothing that will prevent a cross-country drive. - No vibrations or funny noises at speed - This truck runs, drives, and handles the way one would expect a clean, suburban, original car to drive. - No excuses. No stories. Simply fly in and drive it home.
