Vehicle Detail

Up for Auction is my extremely nice 81 Caddy Diesel. At this point, this truck needs nothing but to be driven and enjoyed. Due to a recent change in plans and lack of storage space, I am starting this auction at $100 and letting it go at NO RESERVE!! so bid often and Bid to Own!!! A few years ago, I sought this truck out because it was such a nice, straight, solid example. Unlike most of these, this one had and has NO rust. It was purchased new locally and still holds the original owners guide, warranty info, and dealer info in the glove box. Since that just wasnt enough, I opted to have the truck disassembled, epoxy primed, and painted with ppg basecoat/clearcoat. Upon reassembly, I gathered and installed NOS (VW) window seals, new sliding rear window, body moldings, taillights, headlights and original decals. I also had a color coded bedliner done at this time. The pictures speak for themselves.. The interior features a new custom molded carpet kit, new headliner, NOS Golf ball shift knob, mint dash, polished mk1 scirocco wheel, new kenwood CD player/ infiniti speakers and a very nice set of burgundy Rabbit Gti recaro seats. The engine/ drivetrain are in extremely nice shape as well. Since the previous owner had over heated the truck he had the engine replaced with a low mileage (less than 100k) later model Mk2 engine with hydraulic lifters. At that time, all motor mounts, coolant hoses, water pump, head gasket, timing belt/ tensioner, drive belts, and the clutch/ pressure plate/ release bearing, and shifter bushings were replaced. After purchasing the truck, I had the AC converted to 134A and he injection pump re-sealed. Again, no corners were cut... This truck runs, rides, and drives as nice as you could expect. In the 1000 or so miles ive driven it, Ive gotten 45+ MPG. Everything works as new ( I mean everything). The tires, struts, strut bushings, are all new and the front end has been aligned- the truck drives straight and true. The odometer reads 88,000 but was amongst the list of things that I had repaired, so, I guess I should say the mileage is unknown. As anyone could imagine, I have spent lots of money on this truck to make and keep it what it is. Anyone with any good sense can see that I am willing to let it go for a portion of whats invested. Just like any other 30 year old car, this one isnt perfect either. Even though youd be very hard pressed to find another nicer, there are a few flaws. These are ALL pictured so please refer to the pics before you ask questions. On the body, there is a small ding in the RR of the tailgate and a small indention behind the passenger door. On the drivers seat there is a about an inch section of fabric that is split and... thats pretty well it.. I think you get the idea- As always, ive tried to give as accurate a description as humanly possible. I realize this place works off of positive feedback, and I prefer to keep it that way. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. I encourage anyone who is interested to contact me and come and look at this car in person. If you have less than +10 feedback please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled immediately. There is a $500 deposit through paypal required within 24 hours of auction closing- NO exceptions. The remainder is to be paid within 7 days. The vehicle is to be picked up within 14 days unless proir arrangements are made. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!! On Jul-11-10 at 08:58:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I have put together an album of 40 more pics... Everyone, thanks for your patience... http://www.flickr.com/photos/36622878@N05/ Thanks for the phone calls and emails. I would be more than happy to pick up the winning bidder from the atlanta airport if they would prefer to drive this truck home-
