I purchased this MGB from a long time owner in Independence, MO. It has been off the road for several years, 22 at least. Last Missouri inspection was 1988. All parts unique to the 1969 are here which makes this car itself a great find. Such a rare find in this condition that it is worth noting all I can tell you about it. This is one of those cars that has documented history. Complete with its Passport to Service issued by Nick Graffeo Motors in Birmingham, Alabama on Jan 12, 1970 to the original owner, Pringle Boyle, Jr. The trunk contains the boot cover, tonneau cover (unique to 1969 models), the factory jack with storage bag, knock off wrench and hammer, factory original tonneau support bars with bag, BMC over the shoulder seat belts, and some other odds & ends. VEHICLE CONDITION BODY: Previous owner had done some body repair but it was never finished nor was it properly done in the rockers. To repair the car properly, it will need rocker and floor pan repair, like most other MGB projects. The car still has its original aluminum bonnet. It will need a drivers side door glass. The car still has its original LUCAS headlights. INTERIOR: The interior has nice seats. Carpet believed to be original could stand to be replaced. Crack in the dash top. Tachometer is broken. MECHANICAL: Original engine with good compression and still with all factory emission equipment intact and functional. The mileage on the car is 56497 and it is believed to be original due to length of storage. The car starts up with little effort but will need a new choke cable. I have driven the car in the drive but only in first gear as the clutch hydraulics need to be repaired. I have the park brake functional but the brake hydraulics need to be gone through. Exhaust needs repair at the downpipe from the manifold. Standard 4 speed, no overdrive. TOP & COVERS: The top is getting old. It will keep most water out but does have a couple of tears in it and cloudy back windows. Boot cover is nice. Tonneau cover has some rust on the zipper but it is the correct one for the 1969 cars. The remainder of the balance is due within 7 days of the auction end and is payable in the form of a cashiers check, USPS money order, or cash in person when the car is picked up (provided the car is picked up within the 7 day time frame from auction end). If you are picking up the car in person, cash in person is the required form of payment. Shipping: This is your responsibility. I will help with the loading of the car. Please bring your own ramps for your trailer, tie downs, etc. as none will be provided. If you are arranging shipping with a transport company, please be sure to tell them that all pickup arrangements must be made 24 hours in advance and the car must be picked up before 8 PM. I live on a winding country road and I don't want any loading on it after dark. Pickup of car: This must be done by noon on July 22nd, unless prior arrangements have been made and I agree to them. Failure to pick up the car within this time frame will result in storage fees of $20 per day that must be paid before the car is released.
