Vehicle Detail

I reside in New Mexico and I am a buyer for numerous New and Used Car dealerships throughout the USA. I had the opportunity to purchase this "bug convertible" at a collector type car auction and I am selling it independantly through one of my dealers. I have been in the Automotive Business for 42 years and if nothing else, know the value of a rare car, such as this one, when I see it. Actually, I sold this model and many like it when they were new. Anyway, this is a 1979 Beetle Convertible, YELLOW with a black top as you can see in the photos. I drove this car from the auction and have been driving it ever since. It is a "hoot" to drive, with the top down, of course. It runs great and has a 4 speed transmission which shifts loosly but well. The car was born with the old hang on A/C but the compressor has been removed and I don't think it would take much to restore it to it's orinional condition. The body od the car is "rough" in spots, with no dents at all. There are numerous small items that are missing like the window crank, sunvisor, radio, passanger side running board and a few center caps. The convertible top, as a whole is in average condition although the back window should be replaced. The prior owner put a peice of plexeglass in for the back window, which to restore it to origional should be replaced. The car is VERY RESTORABLE. If there is any particular part of the car you would like me to take photos of or any other information you require please ask. When I bought the car I was told it was TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN/EXEMPT although the speedo and odometer does work?!? The needle, as you can see in the speedo photo has fallen off the guage but the "hub" or base of the needle still moves as it should.
