1972 Dodge Challenger A Solid California Car with a Clean Title Up for auction is a 72 Challenger. I purchased this Challenger from the original owners, and have several service records as well as DMV paperwork. This Challenger has been in California all its life and is VERY SOLID with only topical rust in a few areas, NO ROT anywhere. The trunk, floors, rear quarters, and even behind the rear windows are all solid. The trunk does have some light surface rust, but it's just that, and is easily removed. The body is very straight, with a few minor dings. Hood and trunk lid need minor adjustments. The car still wears the original black paint, but the factory vinyl top is gone. The chrome, especially in front, is in very good condition. The rear bumper may have some light pitting. Most of the interior is still there including the factory seats, and center console with the slap stick auto shifter. The car comes with the factory steering wheel, which is in good condition. The factory engine (318ci), trans (Auto) and rear end (8.75") are still in place, but the engine hasn't be started in about two years. The engine remains stock with the exception of an Edelbrock intake and aftermarket Carter AFB Carb. The car was a factory A/C car, and the A/C compressor has been removed. The odometer reads 57,043 which is possibly / probably 157,043. I will be including (not pictured) a factory E-body disc brake set that need to be refurbished, but can be used to upgrade the front brakes. I also have a big block E-body "K-member" (not pictured) that can be installed if a big block engine was to be used. A few companies do make motor mounts that will allow a big block to mount to a small block K-member. The car also comes with misc trim pieces (not pictured) including the chrome windshield trim. Obviously this Challenger needs to restored / redone, but if you're looking for a solid foundation with very little body work needed, this car might interest you.
