Vehicle Detail
This is a VERY NICE, vintage motorcycle.....a true classic! If you want to turn heads and ride something that stands out. THIS IS IT! Starts Right up and Runs great. I really do not want to sell it but we just traded it in and it has to go! Please feel free to ask any questions or give me input on this. I have never owned one before. Interested in trading for Jeep Wrangler or???? I will post more info on it soon. If you need more pics .....just let me know. 405-799-8585 On Jul-01-10 at 08:50:14 PDT, seller added the following information: This is what the guy that i got it from told me.... "I bought the bike after it had been sitting in storage for 20 years with the carbs off the engine, so it was locked up. I took the bike down to buckets, powdercoated the frame and the tank, and I dropped the 900 cc engine from a '78 R90 /6. The carbs are Mikuni round slides for better throttle response than the stock Bing carbs, which were constant velocity carbs. The tail section and the seat were custom made. The speedo unit was originally a black face design and was nonfunctional, I sent it to Palo Alto Speedo in CA (they're well known in the BMW moto community for being the experts on those units) and they restored it with the white face conversion. When you ride it you'll probably hear the valve noise in the boxer engine, you are supposed to hear that on these motors, so don't let someone unfamiliar with the airhead boxer engine try to adjust it out. Never have had a problem starting the bike as long as the carbs are choked. I installed vacuum ports on the carbs for tuning/sync purposes." ----i also attached a pic of the bike before it was restored. If anyone wants to make an offer to end the auction early....let me know.
