Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is my 1968 Camaro RS 327 Convertible. This is a beautiful true Rally Sport. What I would call a very excellent driver, but treated like a show queen. It looks and drives incredible and is mostly original but not totally. What I mean is the motor has some modifications as do the brakes, wheels, and tires. Otherwise it is a very original survivor. I have had the car for almost 6 years and didn't get an extensive history on it, but what I was told is that it was first owned by a GM rep near Maine. Once you see the car, you will see that this was a well taken care of toy right from the start. I was told the car was restored to what it is now about 12-15 years ago and very well kept as i have done for 6. You can tell that only what needed to be replaced or restored was and all else left alone. The fun of this car is you could leave as is and enjoy, or you could restomod it because it's not all original. The car took 1st place in a large show here in Memphis against other original & mod Camaro's. The engine is a 327 and is not the original motor but is correct for the car and runs very strong and smooth. It has ceramic coated headers, a mild cam, electronic ignition with Hyper-Tech coil. There is an Eldelbrock aluminum intake and Holly 670 cfm street avenger carb. The transmission is a 350 turbo with a shift kit and has the 3 speed horseshoe shifter console. The previous owner put a new gas tank, new leaf springs and new rear brake parts. Some of the things i have done to the car to improve it are: I converted the brakes to power front disk with zinc coated, slotted, and cross drilled disks and left the rear drums. I installed all new stainless brake lines front to back with braided lines to the wheels. I restored or replaced the front suspension and steering components and installed new KYB shocks and larger front sway bar. I put on new rally wheels, 15x8" rear and 15x7" front with big BFG TA's. Put all that together and you have a beautiful car that is fast if you want it; handles like a sports car but rides like a luxury car. The top is electric and the hideaway headlights are vacuum operated, and both work great. There are so many great things i could say about this car! The paint is incredible, it's not faded at all. There are a few minor nicks and some mild shrinkage cracks on the passenger door. There is a small bubble in the paint at the bottom corner of the driver door, but it has not changed in my 6 years. The interior is excellent and clean. This is a rust free mostly original Camaro that you and everyone around you will love. Here is your chance to own an incredible peace of American history. I would not be selling it myself if I hadn't recently had twins and priorities change. Contact me for any questions and happy bidding.
