This is one sweet ride! a 1938 plymouth 4 door sedan. this vehicle was purchased new in kansas and was driven for a couple years then parked, for what reason, i dont know. over the years, kids broke the windows out but fortunately hardly any parts walked away. then the original owner passed away and his nephew inherited it. he then moved to colorado and brought it with him. his wife wasnt keen on it sitting in the garage, he had an HOA that wouldnt let him set it outside, so i came along and bought it with the intent to restore/rat it but i just dont have the time to do it right. so what are we looking at here. this is a 1938 plymouth 4 door sedan with 13142 miles! i pulled the dipstick on the original flathead 6 and there was oil on it. the dash is unmolested, all the doors open and close very solid, the hood and trunk open and close nice. the body is very straight and the only rust through i can find is on the driver side floor and even that is only about 2" x 1". the surface rust or "patina" is so mild that you can still see the original hand painted stripes. i would have to assume the vehicle is "numbers matching" considering the history i know about it. the bad; i dont know if it runs but you know, it probably does. everything is there. get a belt, some fluids, a 6 volt battery, clean the gas tank and it would most likely run down the road. the ONLY things i know of that are missing is a small piece of chrome on the front end, the rear emblem and 2 of the original wheels. the trunk prop is broken and the taillight lens is cracked but is still useable. when i first got the 38 the interior was pretty full of rat droppings. but 5 hours of cleaning and the interior is stripped and all in bags. i didnt throw anything away so there is everything you need to make patterns for the interior. as you can see this is a very complete vehicle that just needs a good refreshing and you would have an amazingly low mileage vehicle from the 30s. or a sweet beginning for a rat rod cuz this thing is SOLID! email with questions.
