1975 Ford Maverick 302 V8 4bbl auto trans. 4 wheel manual drum brakes. The good............... Always starts, even on the coldest days! No smoke or funny noises, 60 psi oil, 160-180 deg temp Stock C4 trans shifts as it should. Stearing and suspension in good condition. Front continental tires 70% . The bad.............. Drivers side door is totaled. It still opens and closes fine, window works good. The car comes with a replacement door shell that will need some work but is much better than the smashed one. The old door needed replacement anyhow as it had a crack at the bottom front of the window frame as so many Mavericks do. It has two bad oil leaks. One on the back of the intake manifold (cork gasket pushed out) and the trans pan gasket leaks. I think I have the intake gasket to send with the car. Front drum brakes are horribly out of adjustment and pull BAD. And for some reason I can't get them to stay adjusted. I put new shoes and wheel cylinders on a couple years ago. It's unlikely but possible I put them together wrong? BALD rear tires ;-) Cracked grille missing a small piece. Rust issues.................. Floors, trunk and trunk drop panels solid with surface rust. Shock towers clean with a small rust hole near hinges. Bottom of front fenders need to be patched. Rear quarters have holes at the front and rear of the panels, wheel arch is still there but probably are thin. Outside of the totaled door there are only 3 minor dents. I have a replacement door shell that goes with the car. Interior.................... Seats, dash pad, headliner are shot. Carpet is very dirty but otherwise OK. Door panels and plastic trim is all there but need help. Misc................ 125k miles Old school aluminum slot wheels. Some curb rash and they need a good polish. They will look pretty good with a little elbow grease. 5 lug axles with an 8 inch rear end. Lights, wipers, heater all work. Heater is noisy. Dual exhaust with nice low tone. Holley 4V carb. If you use the buy it now option I will include a few extras. Replacement grille (black) NOS long tube headers and collectors Hedmann I believe. And a 289 Torker single plane intake. Outside of the brakes I would drive this car anywhere (I'd bring extra oil of course!) And I will take you for a test drive if you like. Please don't ask to take the whole family along on the test! Car must be towed (unless you live within 20 miles.
