Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my 1973 Karmann Ghia. This has been in my family for some time now and was given to me by my uncle. I have had the car for the past 3 years. I've done quite a bit of work to the car to clean it up and bring all the mechanical functions to top spec. The body is straight with the exception of the left corner panel being slightly dented. It was bumped by a car at a light. The front end of the car has been completely replaced with a fiber glass front clip. All vents and gas filler lid have been shaved off. There is no front bumper and custom turn signals. All the chrome on the car has been removed with the exception of the door handles. The VW emblem is a gold VW. The front end has slight finish coat damage, from being pushed into another car when it was bumped from behind (didn't have the brake pedal held down) The fiberglass is fine, just the finish coat and some paint is needed here. The car has a clean title and current registration. Currently insured and driven at least once a week. It's garage kept. The interior is in very clean shape. New interior panels, seats are recovered. Carpet kit, EMPI short shifter, VDO oil pressure, oil temp, vac/boost and a volt meter. Has all the original gauges that work with the exception of the clock. It has a faux wood overlay on the dash, new crash pad and real wood Grant steering wheel. It has a 10k RPM tach with shift light. The Ghia is painted in single stage gloss black in fairly good shape. Still nice and glossy with a few areas needing touch ups. The interior is white vinyl with black carpet. It has a Pioneer touch screen DVD player in it with 3 6x9 speakers in boxes. The screen is cracked on the DVD player but still shows video and plays music (was used for a CD player). The car is lowered in the front and in the rear, has brand new tires in the front with about 200miles on them. The brakes front and rear have just been done and the bearings in the front repacked. Steering is nice and tight with upgraded sway bar in the front and urethane bushings in the front suspension. It has 15" EMPI rims. The motor was rebuilt in Napa, Ca back in 2005. Its a 1835 motor with dual Weber IDF 44's. It has the Hot Street C35 Scat cam set. Hi volume oil pump, EMPI intake manifolds, all black tin with heater deleted doghouse and race fan. Electric fuel pump with EMPI block off plate. Remote oil filter and dual relief case. All oil lines are AN line as are the oil breather lines from each valve cover. They go to a EMPI breather tower. Newer generator just replaced and brand new voltage regulator. Battery is located under the rear passenger seat. Pertronix electronic ignition, 009 dizzy and Bosch blue coil. Custom set of Accell 8mm wire set, just put on with new NGK spark plugs. Carb's just got tuned and car starts with a simple turn of the key. Motor runs really strong and only has about 6k on the motor. Doesn't use any oil. Fairly good on gas if you can keep your foot out of it. I also have an optional 1.5 qt sump that attaches to the bottom of the case. I also have a set of 40 Solex carbs with intakes and other turbo accessories. The previous motor in the car was turbo charged. It has the 8 dowel flywheel and upgraded clutch with light weight flywheel. Drove it up from Napa to Redding in 2007 and it drove like a dream and still does. Brakes work great, throttle is crisp and responsive. I love this car but I have too many toys and the wife says I have to get rid of some. I don't want to sell it but have to, I want this to go to a good home so please no kids wanting a little race car. This is adult owned and treated accordingly. I change the oil every 2k miles, or every 2 months with new filter every time... I'm a little anal about oil changes. New sump gaskets are always used and top quality 20w-50 oil is used. I don't drive it in the winter, it doesn't see rain. I only drive it in the summer and it gets 110 up here. Oil temp is good around town and on the highway gets to 210 and sits there. Below half way on the VDO oil temp gauge which goes to 300F! I'm asking 3600 obo because of the minor body damage. I'm open to reasonable offers, please no low ball offers I do not have to sell this car. Have clean title in hand.
