Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a very clean 2003 Ford E-350 XLT Extended Wagon 15 passenger 1 Ton van purchased by my company in September 2009 with 190,009 miles. It now has 217,853 miles as it was used weekly to transport school children. This van is loaded with the super smooth 5.4L Triton V8, 4 speed automatic, power steering/brakes/windows/locks. It has factory running boards, rare power driver seat, factory cd player, cruise, tilt, cold front/rear air conditioning, and chrome bumpers that come with the XLT package. All the windows are tinted including a professional 50% Madico tint on the two front windows. This van was somewhat clean when we bought it, but it is even cleaner now after getting it thoroughly detailed inside and out on Wednesday June 23. It smells fresh, looks fresh, and is in overall good shape for a 15 passenger van. The original engine is clean and smooth running, with no leaks. The original transmission shifts smooth and operates as it should even after hours of highway driving...no leaks either. Sometimes there is a kick in the transmission when it shifts, but all these older 4 speed automatics do it.....no slipping. My 1997 did the same thing until needing it's first transmission at 250,000 miles. We changed the oil every 3000 - 4000 miles....it was changed about 500 miles ago in April just before we took it off the road. Just the other day I put brand new wiper blades on it. When we got the van back in the Fall, we did new rear Ford OEM rotors, new pads, Ford OEM ebrake cables (axle has to come out for this job) and new ebrake shoes......parts alone were almost $500..... easily a $1500 job at the Ford dealer. This vehicle was fleet maintained and had to pass 4 safety inspections in the last year we owned it - MA state inspection, 2 7D school inspections, and 1 MA DOT inspection. There are 2 rear Firestone tires with 25% tread and 2 front Good Year tires with 25% tread. I took a picture of the passenger side Good Year, the driver's side is dry rotted. The tires are safe, but I would replace the front 2 and keep 1 for a spare. The average Joe might say no big deal, but we always overmaintained. The brakes, steering, and suspension system are responsive.......I wouldn't characterize everything as smooth......this van has 217,853 miles and is about as smooth as your are going to get for a van with this mileage..... you get your usual highway vibration from these econolines, not to mention the rattles from all the plastic panels. Those who have experience with these E-350 vans know what I'm talking about. I have a 2006 with 80,000 miles and a 1997 with 368,000 miles......This van feels better than the 1997, but certainly not as tight as the one with 80,000 miles. All dash lights including the "check engine", "abs", red "brake" warning light are OFF. The overdrive light is not flashing either. As with any van this age, it's not cosmetically perfect. I took pictures of noteable defects which include the following: large dent right passenger swing door (does not affect operation), right lower crack left passenger swing door (does not affect operation but door rattles over bumps), right rear quarter panel creases, right front bumper corner scrape, repainted lower wheel well corners (where paint flaked off from age), red/pink stain on carpet behind 1st bench seat, rear bumper dings. If you want a showroom condition van, this van is not for you. If you can overlook the imperfections described and shown in the pictures, you should be very happy with this van. The farthest most rear 4 passenger bench seat is tan...NOT grey...it's all I could find because it was missing when I bought it. This van seats 14 plus the driver and all seatbelts are in place and in proper working order. The paint is glossy, and the interior is overall clean since having it detailed. Overall, the condition of the van is as good as it looks in the pictures. The rare power driver's seat works, as do the power mirrors, and all other accessories. The rear heat and air conditioning switches properly between "FLOOR" heat and "ROOF" air conditioning (a common braking problem in these econlines). All dashboard fan speeds work properly too. We are selling this van because we no longer are in the children's transportation business. This is one of 13 Ford vehicles we took off the road. Clean Massachusetts title in hand ready to go. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the sale of the van. Free pick-up at Logan Airport for those flying in to Boston. If for some reason you are not happy with this van when you come to pick it up, I will refund your $500 deposit - no hassle. This is a NO RESERVE auction so happy bidding and good luck!!
