Vehicle Detail
Up for auction this week AT NO RESERVE is my beautiful ALL STEEL 1940 Ford Custom Deluxe Street Rod in Pace Car orange over Gray interior. This car has been in my family since it was built in 1996 and has covered approximatly 5000 miles in those 14 years, mostly to street rod shows such as The York Pa. and Columbus Ohio Nationals, and the Michigan Woodward Dream Cruise. The car puts out 625 horse power at the rear wheels, is in excellent condition, is very streetable, and an absolute blast to drive. Here are the particulars, but please contact me with any questions. The paint and body are in excellent condition. All body panels are straight and all gaps are good, even the tilt front end and trunk caps. The Pace car Orange paint is very deep and lusterous. There is no rust or damage to the body and the 14 year old paint job looks like it could have been done within the last two years. Body and paint 9.0/10. The interior of the car is in very good condition. The seats (bench and 2 jumps), carpets, headliner, dash, VDO guages, billet, panels, trim, rubber, etc. are all very good 9.0/10. The electrics (Painless Wiring), the lights, fuel pump, etc. all function well. 9.0/10. All glass, tires, emblems, bezels, etc. are all very good 8.5/10. The exhaust is a 1967 Corvette un baffled side exhaust and is excellent. All powers- Vintage Air and Heat, power steering, power disc brakes, and power windows etc. are excellent 9/10. The drivetrain and undercarriage are excellent. The frame is the original Ford, the front end dropped 5 inches, with power front disc brakes added. The rear is Ford 9 inch with 3.50 open gears. The radiator is a small Dodge radiator, rebuilt and recored. the important thing to note about the cooling system is that there is an aditional radiator, a Chevy 4 core, mounted transversely under the trunk floor. Thus, the car is loop cooled from front to rear with about 15 gallons of coolant. The car never runs above 180 degrees F on the hotest of days. 9.0/10 The powertrain of this 1940 coupe is absolutely outstanding. The motor is a 1970's Chevy 454 V-8 with dual quad Edelbrock 450 carbs. The motor has been bored 60 over two 468 ci, and features a GMC 671 blower supercharger currently running 2-4 pounds of boost (9-10 when pulley is changed), with a 7.5 : 1 compresion ratio. This unit puts out 625 horsepower at the rear wheels. No leaks in the engine or trans 9.5/10. This is a great car! Other details include 15' Centerlines with good Mickey Thompson's, year old trunk-mounted battery, butted windshield glass, remote batt. shutoff, remote trunk release, separate toggle for Aux radiator, shaved drip rail mouldings, CB! Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, although I can assist. Please contact me with questions!
