Vehicle Detail

For 1992, a new Eldorado appeared. It was in fact only slightly bigger than its predecessor, but it was so much more adroitly styled that it seemed greatly so. Window glass was once again frameless, and shortly after introduction of Cadillac's new Revised 245 hp 4.9 L The combination of sleek styling and increased power seemed more like the great Eldorados of the past, and reviews were generally good. Sales were up with the new body styling, geared to the younger generation of sports car enthusiast's. hence the term "this isnt your daddy's caddy" the 1992 cadillac eldorado was a jaw droping change, that the younger generation went crazy to get there hands on..the car was extremely fast, yet nimble and very comfortable. it was shear beauty to look at, but was all business under the bonnet..the car reached incredable top speeds in just a few seconds. the 92 eldorado had more torque then any car in in class. the 1992 thru 2002 cadillac eldorados hold resale value and have a higher return for there investment than any other car in there class. these cars are still in very high demand and sought after by all walks of life, from the youth of today to the seniors of yesterday.. To own and drive a cadillac eldorado of this generation is pure heaven on earth.. its been said, they are wolf's in sheap's clothing.! The Eldorado continued for the rest of the decade with incremental changes and gradually increasing sales. A passenger side airbag was added as standard equipment in 1993. Fresh exterior styling - in the form of updated bumpers front and rear, side cladding, and a new grille - arrived & featured a slightly revamped interior with a new upholstery sew style, larger analog gauge cluster, relocated climate control system, and updated stereo faces. In the wake of increasing sales, circulating reports that the Eldorado would get a redesign for 1993 — similar to that which its Seville platform mate underwent for 1993 — the car soldiered largely unchanged into the new millennium.why change a great body style was cadillacs thought..although production did stop in the fall of 2002.. cadillacs demise was the intruduction of the all aluminum northstar engine..they are plauged with the infamous "bad head gasket" issue. the predecessor of the northstar engine was the world famous cast block 4.9 L it has proved time & time again that they are capable of running well into the 3 hundred thousand mile marker.. The car was also sold under the badge Cadillac ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) and ESC (Eldorado Sport Coupe). Not long after, GM announced that the Eldorado's 50th model year, 2002, would be its last. To mark the end of the historic name, a limited production run 1,596 of cars in red or white - the colors available on the original 1953 convertible - were produced in three batches of 532, signifying the Eldorado's first year of production. These last cars had exhausts that were specially tuned to imitate the note of their illustrious forerunners from a half-century earlier, and a dash-mounted plaque indicating each car's sequence in production. The last Eldorado was delivered to the Cadillac Museum, in honor of Don Massey of Don Massey Cadillac - one of the largest Cadillac dealers in the United States. "based in detroit michigan" The second-to-last production Eldorado was sold to Nicola Bulgari, the Italian jeweler and avid automotive aficionado. The car will reside with his collection in Rome, Italy. Production ended on April 22, 2002..its sad to see a legend disapear.. FOLKS THIS ELDORADO IS A DIAMOND..IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE.. HERE'S THE SCOOP..I PURCHASED THIS CAR WITH THE INTENT ON MAKING IT A 1/4 MILE DRAG CAR. I WAS GOING TO PUT IN A BIG BLOCK 427 I HAVE SITTING UP IN MY GARAGE..BUT THE MORE & MORE I DROVE THE CAR, THE MORE AND MORE I BEGAN TO REALIZE IT'S JUST TO NICE A CAR TO GUT OUT AND MAKE A RACE CAR OUT OF..BUT THATS NOT TO SAY THAT I WOULDNT CONVERT IT.. STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY WITH POWER EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE SUN ROOF.. THE CAR HAS A FEW FLAWS ABOUT IT..1 BEING THE FRONT BUMPER HAS A MINOR CRACK..THE GOOD NEWS THOUGH, A BRAND NEW FRONT BUMPER RIGHT FROM THE DEALER COMES WITH IT,ITS FOR A 1999 AND WILL BOLT RIGHT ON I JUST NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO INSTALL IT YET.COULD USE A SET OF BRAKES BUT THE CAR STOPS FINE. IT HAS A NEW SET OF 20' CHROME WHEELS & TIRES..ALSO COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL CHROME FACTORY WHEELS THAT HAVE EXCELENT TIRES MOUNTED ON THEM AS WELL..THE CENTER CAPS FOR THE 20' WHEELS DO COME WITH THE CAR ALTHOUGH ONE IS MISSING & THEY ALSO NEED THE SCREWS THAT HOLD THEM IN PLACE. CAN BE BOUGHT AT LOWES ECT...THIS EXPLAINS WHY IN SOME OF THE PIX YOU SEE THE CAPS ON..THEY ARE AL IN THE TRUNK ALONG WITH A CHILTONS REPAIR MANUAL.. THE PREVIOUS OWNER SOLD ME THE CAR NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT AND NEITHER DID I HENCE ME WANTING TO PUT A BIG BLOCK IN IT..BUT I HONESTLY WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR BE4 I STARTED TO GUT IT OUT, AS IT HAD BEEN SITTING 2-3 YRS IN A GARAGE WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED, AND WAS REALLY A VERY NICE CADDY, A BUDDY OF MINE IS A TOP NOTCH MECHANIC HE DIAGNOSED IT BEING THE ECM, WHICH GOT THE CAR RUNNING AFTER IT HAD BEEN SITTING 2-3 YEARS, BUT ONLY TO FIND OUT THE DASH WAS ALL SORTS OF WRONG, THE TACH WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN, THE SPEEDO WAS PEGGED, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD FLUTTER FROM FULL TO EMPTY..THE DIGITAL READ OUT WAS IN SOME FOREIGN LANGUAGE..SO I REPLACED THE DASH AS WELL. NOW I FINALY HAD A PERFECT RUNNING 1992 CADILLAC ELDORADO..THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH REPLACING THE OLD DASH INSTRUMENTATION WAS THE MILEAGE WAS WAY OFF, IT NOW READS 200000 MILES WHICH IS CRAZY WRONG..THE CAR HAS ORIGINAL 114 AND SOME CHANGE ON THE ENGINE, TRANS, & BODY..ITS ALL ORIGINAL..THIS CAR EXPLODEDS TO LIFE WITH THE TOUCH OF THE KEY.. SINCE THE 20" WHEELS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED THE CAR DOES NOT RIDE AS SMOOTH AS AN ELDORADO SHOULD. THE FRONT SEEMS A BIT SLOPPY..I DO BELIEVE IT'S DO TO THE LOW PROFILE VERY WIDE STANCE TIRES..PRIOR TO THE WHEELS, IT WAS TIGHT AS A DRUM..I DO HAVE THE ORIGINAL FACTORYS AND THEY WILL BE TOSSED IN THE DEAL.(see pix). THE CAR HAS A BRAND NEW BATTERY AS OF LAST MONTH. THE AUTO CHECK REPORTS THAT THIS CAR WAS IN A FRONT END COLLISION IN MAY OF 06 THAT IS PROBLEY TRUE AS THE FRONT BUMPER HAS A SLIGHT MINOR CRACK (have brand new replacement)AND THE FRONT GRILLE LOOKS AS THOUGH IT HAS BEEN REPLACED..OTHER THAN A MINOR CRACK IN THE FRONT BUMPER, THERE ARE NO OTHER DEFECTS IN THIS CARS BODY..ITS VIRTUALY NEAR PERFECT FOR ITS AGE.. ITS COLOR IS A PRETTY SWEET SILVER GREENISH.. THE DRIVER SEAT SIDE BOLSTER IS WORN AND SO IS THE CENTER CONSOLE ARM REST..THE REST OF THE CARS INTERIOR IS IN ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION FOR ITS AGE.. HAS A 7" LANZAR IN DASH TOUCH SCREEN DVD TV NAV SYSTEM..ALTHOUGH THE CLIP THAT HOLDS THE SCREEN ON IS BROKE /LOSE BUT THE UNIT DOES WORK IT EVEN ACTUATES THE POWER ANTENNA THAT IS FULLY WORKING. FOLKS THIS IS NOT A BRAND NEW ELDORADO IT COULD USE SOME TLC..ALTHOUGH ITS STILL A VERY FINE CAR THAT GETS THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES..ITS A REAL EYE GRABBER ON THE ROAD.. I WOULD LIKE ANY PERSPECTIVE OR POTENTIAL BUYER TO COME AND TAKE A LOOK AT THIS CAR. STOP ON BY TAKE HER OUT FOR A SPIN.. ITS HONESTLY A REAL GEM..IT COMES WITH A BUNCH OF EXTRA GOODIES..THE SPARE TIRE HAS NEVER BEEN ON THE GROUND.. THIS IS A NICE CAR FOR A COLLEGE KID OR A FIRST CAR OR FOR A PERSON THAT WANTS STYLE AND LUXUARY ON A BUDGET..ITS CHAMPAIGN TASTE ON A BEER SALARY..IF THIS CAR DOES NOT FETCH EXACTLY WHAT I PAID FOR IT..I WILL CONTINUE WITH MY ORIGINAL PLANS ON MAKING A RACE CAR OUT OF IT. I TRULY DONT NEED ANOTHER DAILY DRIVER.. SO I'LL THROW A QUICK $50.00 ON LISTING IT ONE TIME AND GIVE PEEPS THE CHANCE OF SAVING THIS FINE ASS ELDO FROM BECOMING A VERY "RARE" RACE CAR..WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A 500+ HP WHEEL STANDING, REAR WHEEL DRIVE ELDORADO AT THE DRAGSTRIP..THIS 1 COULD BE IT.. IF YOU LIKE THE CAR SHOOT ME AN EMAIL MAKE ME AN OFFER, ILL END THE AUCTION, ITS REALLY THAT EASY..
