Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a super clean 2003 Ford Windstar SEL purchased by my company in October 2009 with 124,110 miles. It now has 137,765 miles as it was used weekly to transport school children. This van is loaded with a 3.8L V6, 4 speed automatic, power steering/brakes/windows/locks. It has dual power leather seats, dual power sliding doors, power adjustable pedals, back-up sensors, advance trac traction control, factory cd player, cruise, tilt, ice cold front/rear air conditioning, and factory 16" aluminum rims. Although this van surely came with full remote controls, I only have one working chip key, no remotes, and 2 cut chip keys needing programming from Ford. This van was clean when we bought it and is even cleaner now after getting it thoroughly detailed inside and out on Saturday 6/19. It smells fresh, looks fresh, and is one of the cleanest minvans around. I have been purchasing Windstars for 7 years and finding one as clean as this is not an easy task. The original engine is clean and smooth running, with no leaks. The original transmission shifts smooth and operates as it should even after hours of highway driving. We changed the oil every 3000 - 4000 miles....it was changed about 500 miles ago in April just before we took it off the road. Just the other day I put brand new wiper blades on it. The steering rack was replaced in the Fall including both outter tie rod ends - all genuine Ford OEM parts. We sent the vehicle right out for an alignment and it shows. It drives straight as an arrow with a centered steering wheel and has about 50% even tread left on 4 mint Michelin P215/65R16 tires. The brakes and suspension system are also smooth and responsive. No noticeable rattles or squeaks going down the road. A month before taking this vehicle off the road (March) this vehicle passed a rigid Massachusetts 7D school safety inspection which covers all MA safety items and then some. If we were keeping this vehicle we would change out the alternator. It looks original and our experience with Windstars shows that they last an average of 125,000 miles. As with any van this age, it's not cosmetically perfect. I took pictures of noteable defects which include the following: few cracks in the front bumper cover, missing plastic pieces in the windshield wiper shroud, a few slits in the driver's leather seat (not through and trough), dented area around driver's sliding door area (not sure how this could happen, but does not affect operation of manual handle or electric operation), small scrape on passenger side wheel well, and minor damage at rear left corner of bumper. The passenger side power led signal mirror is broken (maybe plug came undone??) and there are miscellaneous minor dings and scratches around the van. The rear vent window motors work, but one makes a funny noise after the window is closed. If you want a showroom condition van, this van is not for you. If you can overlook the imperfections described and shown in the pictures, you will be very happy with this van. The paint is super glossy, and the interior is immaculate. Overall, the condition of the van is as good as it looks in the pictures. We are selling this van because we no longer are in the children's transportation business. This is one of 13 Ford vehicles we took off the road. We will be listing a 2003 Ford E-350 soon, and other Windstars for sale. This is the newest and nicest one we own, so we are starting with our best unit. Clean Massachusetts title in hand ready to go. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the sale of the van. Free pick-up at Logan Airport for those flying in to Boston. If for some reason you are not happy with this van when you come to pick it up, I will refund your $500 deposit - no hassle. This is a NO RESERVE auction so happy bidding and good luck!!On Jun-23-10 at 15:06:41 PDT, seller added the following information: ********Not mentioned above.....there are no trouble lights on the dashboard. The "check engine" light, "abs" light, red "brake" warning light, are all off. The cd player is tested and working. Here's the bonus......I finally had time to play with a bonus extra this van has but I didn't mention......a Ford factory OEM 6" dropdown LCD TV and video system by Autovision. Who knows how much Ford charged for this option, but either they or the dealer installed it and it matches the tan interior perfect. The center console houses the working VHS player. Facing the rear passengers is the control panel for this system. On the control panel is the mode selector (AM, FM, CD, VHS, and AUX.) There is a video AND audio input for YOUR portable DVD player - that's what the "AUX" mode is for......and 2 power ports (not a/c plugs). I even found the original working remote to this system.....WOW!!!!
