Vehicle Detail
1969 Dodge Dart GT for sale that I have been the owner of since 2002 that has been a South Georgia/North Florida car for as long as it can be traced. The Dart was originally a 318 GT car with the Custom trim package and had a Bronze exterior with vinyl top and Bronze interior. Car was converted to C7 Plum Crazy basecoat/clearcoat paint with the engine removed to facilitate proper detail work and the body was reworked. The original fenders were replaced with similar rust-free original fenders from California and the quarters had minimal rust repair with custom metal work from Dave Zebrowski from Zebrowski Collision to preserve their originality. A new three piece trunk pan was installed at this time as well and detailed as well. The paint work is excellent and well above that of a daily driver and the body, as can be seen in the photos, is arrow straight and had literally hundreds of hours put into it to get it as straight as humanly possible. The car has extensive receipts that detail the work that has been completed over the years. The front end was replaced with a complete Moog polyurethane kit with the A-Arms being sandplasted and painted as well at an expense of well over $1000 in 2004. The gas tank, sending unit, and straps were all replaced with Year One parts, the springs replaced with Mopar Super Stock springs, custom driveshaft, rebuilt 904 transmission, front engine wiring harness purchased new from Year One, main dash harness replaced with a mint original recently, etc, etc. There is nothing on this car that has not been updated since purchase except the stock 8 1/4 rearend which is fresh and performs perfectly. The motor is a date code correct 1969 340 block which was built by Stan Kafouse, who specializes in Mopar performance engines, in 2007 and has less than 8000 miles since reworking. It is bored out .60 over, with custom JE pistons, balanced rotating assembly, bored and honed with a torque plate, adjustable rocker arms, and a hydraulic Hughes cam (223/228 at 050). The block was deburred, aligned, honed and decked. After break-in, it was dynoed at 323 and 330 horsepower. The J-heads were recently redone to maximize performance and were ported and polished and had valves done as well. Motor breathes through a stock Mopar intake and a mated 750 Holley 4bbl carb. I have used this car since purchase for an occasional weekend cruiser and it has had minimal performance use, but it did make two passes after break-in at mid 13's for the quarter mile on stock tires and rims and without any special tricks. You won't be disappointed in the performance. The interior has also received similar attention. The seats were recovered, new headliner, new dashpad, and all four door panels were purchased from Legendary Interiors and installed professionally. The dash and door inserts were painted body color and the speedometer unit was removed and professionally restored as well. Much of the door rubbers and window gaskets have been replaced as well. There simply isn't much left to do on this car. It is a great match of the best year of Dart- 1969- with the best and most popular color- Plum Crazy- and is ready to drive without much that you could spend money on if you wanted to. If you have any questions, contact Mark at Girardshome@yahoo.com. As you can see by my perfect 1000+ feedback, with multiple Mopars bought and sold, I have protected my Ebay reputation by being honest and representing items accurately. This is my personal car and a potential buyer can speak personally with both the engine builder and the paint/body technician to gain even more details. I set the reserve very, very realistically- less than what a clean 318 Dart frequently goes for- and I intend to sell this car, not gain appraisal information, and I intend to have a great transaction with a satisfied buyer. On Jun-21-10 at 06:28:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Couple more things I forgot to mention: the Bumblebee stripe around the tail is a painted stripe and not a tape kit application. Also, the grill is an excellent original that needs no upgrade and the hood moulding as well as the taillight bezels and actual lenses are new from Layson's at considerable expense. The bumpers are nice originals and have good shine to them, but could in theory stand replating.
