Here is a great looking 1969 Series II E type. It has a recent paint job and $10,000 engine rebuild. The color is ‘baby blue’ which I think is one of the nicest. So the exterior is impressive and the engine runs strong. The interior wasn’t restored yet. The rear seats are fine but the leather is dry, the driver seat was redone in cheap vinyl and the passenger seat is torn – as shown in the photos. So basically this is a good looking driver – but not a $100K frame –off restoration. Gauges work and the odometer shows 25K miles and it works – so it is safe to assume that true miles are much higher. Car has current registration and is driven daily. At the present,the car is in San Diego, CA. Also, this is a 41 year old car and sold 'as is'.Happy bidding. At the request of an Ebay member I added a photo of the receipts for the engine rebuild and a summary of the mechanics checkup: June 21 2010 PRELIMINARY REPORT Vehicle: 69 Jaguar E type VIN: XXXXXXX Odometer: 27228 General: Car starts and drives well. Gear changes are smooth. Mechanical: Engine: Compression test (throttle closed): Cylinder #1 125 #2 125 #3 130 #4 125 #5 130 #6 130 Engine was rebuilt about 1000 miles ago – light lifter noise. Brakes: fine. Hand brake needs adjustment. Wheels: Thread is 9/10 on all 4 tires. Spare wheel has no tire. Exterior: Glass: no problems Paint: fresh paint, no dents, no signs of collision repair. Rust: not much visible. Sings of floor repair on both sides. Chrome: 7 out of 10 quality. Missing rear window bezel. Rubber: dry and brittle Interior: Gauges work, AC is not working. Wipers not working. Carpets on both sides need to be replaced. Seats are dry – need to be redone. Leather on rear seats dry (not torn). Overall this is a 40 years old car in original condition. Mechanical restoration started and interior need to be finished.
