Vehicle Detail

1973 Cadillac Eldorado 68k Original Miles ! You are viewing a privately owned 1973 Cadillac Eldorado. Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with the presentation and listing of this fine vehicle. You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from the private owner. He is only the second owner of this vehicle. He purchased the car in 1978, (32 years ago) with 33,000 miles. It now has just over 68k original miles. This car has been stored in his garage and has not seen any inclement weather in the past 20 years. Below, the owner will personally go over and describe every area of the vehicle. Please read and view all of the 90 pictures listed in the photo gallery. Click on each picture to make them larger. Would you buy a car on eBay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO. That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for auction. Bid with confidence! Description Written by Owner! Body & Paint: The car has only received one repaint. It was repainted back in 1982. It was repainted in its correct "Georgian Silver Poly" (code 13) color. I'm sure the paint could use a quick wet sanding and buffing to make it ready shine. There are the typical nicks, chips, scratches, and surface rust in various places on the vehicle. (See close up photos for more information and details.) The white padded vinyl top is in good shape and is not shrinking or pulling away, but there are a few area that rust is starting to form under the vinyl. (Around the rear window and molding.) The weatherstripping on the car is in good shape. If you know these cars, then you know that the plastic "Body Fillers" panels become brittle and start cracking. These original pieces are doing just that. There are a few panels that are cracked and/or broken. Replacements panels are available if someone desires to replaced them. Chrome & Trim: All the chrome is in tact and original with no rust or dents. It doesn't show any dulling, fading, or pitting. All the exterior trim pieces and emblems are present and in good condition. The body side moldings were replaced with white rubber side moldings. Interior: The red leather interior, (Trim code 426) is all original and in very good condition. It does show a little wear on the drivers seat. (Very minor) No rips, tears, or holes. The red carpet is in good condition along with the factory red floor mat. The vinyl dash pad, headliner, steering wheel, door panels, arm rest and all the other interior items are in very good condition. It has power windows, power seat, door locks, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power steering, and power brakes. All knobs handles are in tact and original. The radio is a Motorola AM/FM 8 track tape player and is working fine. The factory clock sticks now and then, it may need lubricated. Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is all original including the 501 cu.in. motor. It runs great with no known problems. Everything is working correctly with the only exception being the factory air condition (A/C). It will need an evaporator core. It has a new battery, new starter, new belts, air filter and a fresh oil change. Wheels & Tires: It still has the original Cadillac hubcaps with the steel rims. Mounted on these rims are the Goodyear Arrivas P235/75R15 tires with the correct size white walls. All four tires are in good shape with plenty of thread. Glass: All of the original tinted glass is in nice condition with no cracks. The windshield does has a few small stone chips. The rear window does have a rear defroster. (It may or may not work, unsure.) Both side power windows go up and down without any problems. Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is near perfect. The gray carpet shows no wear or stains. The original jack and jacking tools are present. The spare tire is in great shape (BF Goodrich Life Saver LR78.15) and has the original carpet cover. There is also a factory Cadillac rubber mat that is in great shape. It also has the factory power deck "pull down" that is working. Frame & Undercarriage: The vehicle was rust proofed when purchased in 1978. No repairs made to undercarriage. The fuel lines and brakes lines were replaced. The front shocks along with the rear air shocks were also replaced. The automatic level suspension control system (Air shocks) is working. Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why I took a few pictures of the bottom. Mechanical: The 501 cu.in. motor is all original and has 68,000 miles. It doesn't leak or burn oil. Runs strong. The automatic transmission was just serviced with a new filter, fluid, and pan gasket. It shifts out well and doesn't slip or jerk. Brakes: The brakes are OK with no known problems. They do not pulsate, fade, and/or pull. Suspension: The suspension is OK. New shocks (Air shocks in rear with load level system.) The car sits up nice and doesn't lean to one side. Rides smooth with no shakes or rattles. Exhaust: The exhaust system was replaced in 1982. (Including the muffler and resonator.) No known problems or leaks. The tail pipe exits below the rear bumper area just like the original system.
